Nope, you are not too late Everyone's got one full day to reply to the current story part, so that hopefully no one will be left out because of time issues

The young demon panicked for a moment debating on what to do, surly he would be able to kill them with his slightly clawed hands with some assistance from the rusted metal pipe, but that would rise suspicion. Then again, these men were most likely coming for him, so if he slept and did nothing he would most likely die. Furthermore if he broke out and ran there may be nowhere to run to, and they'd simply chase him down and kill him regardless of if it was his time or not. After he met all his options one last dawned upon him, if he were to pretend to sleep until they were in his cage he could kill them then, with the cell door left wide open he would then make his escaped. He'd close it behind him and the potential attackers bodies would be hidden, keeping other guards unsuspecting.

He decided this was the best option to go with and laid on the rather disgusting cell floor trying not to retch from the scent alone.

As I heard to footsteps nearing the cage, I started to panic. My ears fell flat against my head as I quietly pushed on the cage in a desperate attempt to escape before whatever human... or whatever he or she might be... that locked me in here arrived. I huffed in annoyance. What was wrong with me? Why aren't my vampiric abilities working? I feel really human right now. As I shoved against the cage, it squeaked. That was proof I was doing something right wasn't it? Looking to the corner, I grabbed the broken piece of metal. It wasn't my usual sword, but it would have to do. With a few more shoves, the door started to budge. I clutched the metal as the footsteps were getting closer and closer. I'd have no time to run since, if my strength was failing me, my speed probably would as well. So I had one other option. To go against any moral I had and surprise attack my captor.
