So...good luck to everyone who have entered, as usual, if you get a ping, this means you have passed into the next round....

Welcome to ROUND TWO

The same rules apply to all rounds...

This is the prompt of this round:

'Sylestia...the place where adventurers, magical humanoids, and creatures dwell....'

Pick one of these, don't think I'd have to explain what its for, you'd probably could pick it up...anyways, as usual, on top of your entry, list which one you picked...(and yes I have these fancy 'titles...)...also, basically I have some fancy titles here, but they need a Sylestian story to go along with them...

1. 'The Birth of Sylestia'

2. 'The Arrival of a Legend' (maybe could write about Krinadon...? dunno, small idea, don't have to use it...)

3. 'The Rise of Vylexul' (clickable name link, its Krin's starter)

4. 'When the Night Falls'

5. 'The Birth of -enter your username here-'
(not THAT sort birth by the way, pfft lol, just incase...but like, how did your character grow/live/enter the world of Sylestia...)

^Yes this should all be Sylestian based, so have fun with it.^

'The Birth of Sylestia'

In the beginning the world was still. There was Krinadon and Faiona, day and night, seasons and weather, and the odd language that came from nowhere.
They were bored. Look at this expanse of world! But it is empty!

And so Faiona took up magic and Krinadon took up a new language, and they created. Oh, they created. They created Vorkids and Myconids first. However they found that their creations were unintelligent and incapable of making bonds. So they made homes for their creations in the caves.

And they tried again. Out of this try came Water Sprites and Trolls. These creations were again flawed. Water sprites, though capable of making bonds, were incapable of leaving the water, and resented the landwalkers for it. The Trolls could communicate, but they were not kind. Attempts to befriend them resulted in injury and anger.

Frustrated, the pair journeyed their land, hoping to learn. They encountered a goddess from another world who saw for them. She informed that

'Though your previous attempts have failed,
with much effort your next attempts shall succeed.
But you must gather six elements:
Air from the top of your highest mountain;
Water from the heart of your deepest lake;
Snow from your northernmost point;
Lava from the hottest volcano;
Sand from the hidden oasis;
and Stone from the greatest of the sacred temples of old.
These together will create that which you need,
and will bring attention to your last requirement'
.

They thanked her and set again on their journey. First they surveyed the map they had made of their land. They found that they were closest to their highest mountain and hiked up that first. Once at the top, they encountered the problem. How do we capture this thin air? Magik stuffed the answer into Faiona's mind. Magic! We shall magic it into a container. And so they had the Air.

Next, they headed west and then very far north, to get the snow. At the point that the land met the sea, they stopped and jarred the snow. But! How do we keep the snow as snow when we travel south? Magik again brough forth the answer. Magic, of course! We shall use the magic of the shadows to keep the snow cold. And so Faiona cast the magic and they headed off again.

Deep in the dark forest, where they recalled the greatest of temples they'd stumbled upon. There they found a wall covered in what they decided to call runes, and figured that that would be what their stone was. Problem was, how were they ever going to move so much of it? And Magik proved to be great once more. Magic, yes! Faiona cast a magic of the earth, to lift the wall and carry it with them.

They then found their deepest lake. After much bargaining with the Water Sprites, they had a jar of water from the deepest point, where their lungs would have burst trying to reach. In return, Faiona taught them the magic of healing. Unfortunately they would be known to use it only for themselves.

Next they went east, to the oasis hidden deep in the desert. Here they looked around at the sand, wondering where they should draw their sand from. At last, they decided to draw some from the water in the oasis, as that is what gives the life to the little paradise. And so Faiona did a tricksy bit of magic with the water that separated out grains of sand from it.

Last they went to gather the lava, and so headed to the volcano that exposed it's lava to the sky in aeternum, at the southern end of the continent. Here Magik lent help once more, giving Faiona the urge to send her fire magic down into the volcano to bring up the lava and keep it liquidsy on the last leg of their travel.

Finally, burdened with their ingredients, they traveled to the middle of their land, meaning to start the creating. On the way they found that faeries had come to the continent. With the suddenness of a rock to the head, and a blinding headache, because Magik! It occurred to the Krinadon that maybe part of an fairy would be the last requirement! So they detoured into the region strife with rivers, and sought out the newly arrived faeries.

In exchange for letting the faeries move further inland to set up permanent dwellings, the Princess herself gave up her memories, encased in an orb of Faerie magick for transport, for the creation process. As the faeries set off to look for a home, Faiona and Krinadon returned to the path to the center of the continent.

When they got there, they set about making a circle of their collected items. The Faerie Memory at the top, and Sand, Lava, Stone, Water, Snow, Air in a counterclockwise direction. Krinadon and Faiona stood together near the Faerie memory and spoke. He, his odd language, and she the language of the Magik... And things happened.

Several minutes of bright lights and swirly colors, rapid temperature changes, and what sounded a lot like some sort of screaming later, the world was quiet and still. And as darkness fell through the light, bringing vision back to Krinadon and Faiona. And what they saw!

Looking like wind avianified, there were a pair of large birds with long, slender necks, and plentiful tails. Close by, a pair of hoofed creatures with scales on their backs and stars in their manes stood. Playing near the pair were a pair of canines with fluffy tails covered in runes. A pair of creatures similar to the canines but with webbed feet and tail, were racing like they were swimming through the air to join the game. Off to the side, glaring at the playing pups were a pair of glowing lizards, who were shooting flames out of their tails and spines. On the far opposite side of the gathering were a pair of very fluffy creatures with long, sharp fangs and very pretty eyes, seeming to be avoiding the flaming lizards.

And Krinadon and Faiona looked at the varied creations, and saw that they had personality and could communicate amongst each other, even getting along without killing each other. And so they named their creations. The Aurleons, the Qitari, the Zolnixi, the Sylvorpa, the Draeyl, and the Vulnyx. All embodiments of various elements, with that touch of Faerie magick that ensured immortality and true sentience.

And so began Sylestia. Time passed and the populations of Sylesti in Sylestia grew. As it grew, more travelers came. Elves and humans alike came and made to tame the sylesties. Somehow in the remote regions of the wild, new sylestian species developed. Visitors made friends, sylesti and not, and settled in to stay. Krinadon and Faiona were hailed as leaders, and made great efforts to build up the continent.
