Once again not understanding what you're saying, he lowers his head to graze. You doubt he'll stay put for long.

Desta shakes her head. "Can't go back you'll leave." She whispers. "Thowra." She says his name trying to get him to learn it.

"Ah, I don't." he replies, then pauses and scratches his chin in thought. "You could ask the 'orse Trader though, 'e was an adventurer like you when 'e was young." Nodding his head as if satisfied with his response, he rushes away to fetch the halters, lead rope and treats. "60 coins for these. Glad you've bought my 'omemade 'orse treats!"

You have gained the following items:
-Halter x2
-Lead rope
-Bag of 5 horse treats
At the expense of:
60 coins

"Thank you very much" I say, smiling warmly at the man. After leaving the shop I head to the horse trader and start examining his horses. I don't have enough to buy any of them but hopefully it's a good conversation starter.

(How do the backpacks work? Is every item, including things like individual treats, one space?)

He flicks his ear, recognizing that you've repeated that word many times now.

"Good boy Thowra do you want me to sing a little to you again?" Desta asks quietly.

(Everything is considered one space, including your coin pouch. For things that are very small, like horse treats or berries, a bag or a handful would be considered one space. Hope that clears things up a bit)

The Horse Trader quickly notices your interest in his horses and walks over to greet you. "Hello traveler! Anything I can help you with?"

"Perhaps," I answer. "You have quite the eye for horses and I've heard you were quite the adventurer. I was wondering if you knew a good way to cross the desert, or any places in the mesa worth visiting?"

You find a key folded carefully inside a paper in the center of the desk. The key seems to be the right size and shape to open the box from earlier. The paper contains a short message: My dear daughter has taken my favorite jewelry box. Try as I might, I cannot find it. She has hidden it well. I will be long gone by the time anyone comes by this message, so if it is ever found, they may keep its contents.

I let out a whoop of excitement and eagerly use the key to try and open the box
