I take my room key, head up to my room, and after closing the door securely, I set down the creature I found. I get some fruit pieces from my satchel and give one to it.

Continuing to stand her ground, Tavra looked back at the men with a cold stare. She was outnumbered and Blaine wasn't forthcoming with any assistance, not that she'd expected the other woman to back her up anyway. This was probably a situation in which she was in a little over her head, but she'd started this...she didn't feel she could stop now.
"Shouldn't you be a wife or something?" she quipped back, the residual warmth from the whiskey still keeping her feeling calmer than she'd probably be normally, "Or was that an offer? Because I'm afraid I have to inform you that you're not really my type." Her faced stayed mostly blank but she arched one eyebrow condescendingly at the man who spoke.

As you spoke back to the man in front, his face quickly grew red. His mouth contorted in anger as he took another threatening step towards you. "Why, you little..." he growled and raised his knife. Beside him, both of his comrades joined in, letting the scrawny man run off. You certainly wouldn't have been able to take all three of them - these were bulky guys. You were sure you were about to die...
...And then the men shouted and put their hands to their eyes. A ball of light had suddenly appeared in between you and the men, and while it was bright, it certainly wasn't hurting you like it seemed to be doing to them. Blinded, the men dropped their weapons and fled immediately, clutching their faces.
The tavern had gone silent, most of the patrons staring at the spectacle in wonder, even as the ball of light vanished, having affected only the three men. Blaine, for her part, was still sitting at the counter of the bar and taking a long swig of her alcohol.
