There are several desks of that kind in the lobby, you spot a boy about your age or a bit younger, wearing the silver jacket of the employees standing behind one of of them, tapping his foot impatiently. A white furry lump, probably an animal of some sort, is curled up in the corner of the desk.
When the boy finally spots you, he waves for you to come over.

He looks surprised by the greeting. "I'm doing fine, you?"
The animal in the corner lifts its head and you see that it is a cat with one blue and one green eye. You're shocked when it starts to speak, "Greetings stranger, I am Eira and this is my Master, Dashiell."
"Right," says Dashiell, giving Eira a scratch behind the ears as he checks something on what looks like a scroll. "You're James Lutrinae, right? The new employee?"
Dashiell leads you into a narrower, but still spacious hallway, lined with numbered doors.
You stop outside door number 879, and he hands you a key from yet another of his pockets.
"This will be your room for your stay here. Well, it's more of an apartment than a room, but you'll be able to go inside in a minute. You can always visit home when or if you ever feel the need, but staying here is much more convenient. And of course, don't lose your key!"
He gestures for you to open the door.

"Great. Yeah, um, I probably wont be staying at home...." he chuckled nervously. He opened the door to check it out.

You unlock the room door to a beautiful suite, with a fluffy-looking queen-size bed and a couch, and two hallways leading off from there. There's a giant window taking up one wall, enchanted to show various real-time landscapes from the Seven Worlds rather than the nothingness of the void. There's a neat pile of things stacked in the middle of the bed.
"Like it?" asks Dash, leaning against the doorframe. "I, or anyone else, can't enter unless you invite them in, so it should be a secure place to leave your things. He points to the left hallway. "The kitchen is there, if you'd like to cook." Then pointing in the direction of the right hallway, "That's where the bathroom and closet are. And don't forget to check that out," he says, nodding at the pile of stuff on the bed.

Dash smiles.
On the top is a neatly folded silver-gray jacket, like the one all the employees have. Slipping it on, it feels just the perfect temperature, not too hot, not too cold, not too bulky. It has tons of pockets, hidden and not hidden, that are very much bigger than they look. "You have to wear that jacket everywhere other than this room, it identifies you as an employee, plus the pockets are very convenient and it's good for pinning your badges."
Next is a... lighter. You test it and it works. Well, that's great for setting things on fire. "Don't worry, this whole place is fireproof," says Dashiell from the doorway. "Just don't burn yourself. Fire is one of the best outlets for magic."
There's a normal key ring, you slip your room key onto it and stick it in one of your many pockets.
Underneath this is is a messenger bag that is designed to look old, but you can tell that it's brand new. "You don't have to bring it everywhere unlike the jacket, it's more if you have more than just your usual supplies or you're on an important mission."
And at the very bottom is... is that a wand? It's not very fancy but it makes your fingers tingle when you pick it up. "And that," says Dash sternly, "is the probably most important and expensive thing you will ever own. Whatever you do, don't lose it."

(Should've used nic he would love the pockets and cna just see him giving dash a headache..ah well Meinke will still test anyone's limits.)
Meinke stared. And blinked. And had to pinch himself. "...Yeah I'm definitely not gonna head back home for a visit. Especially since I'll probably get my neck snapped for living in luxery without telling that lot."

"Oh yeah, and I forgot, if you don't feel like cooking, there's a table in the kitchen where hou can order stuff. You don't have to worry about cleaning but just don't trash this place. All set? When you're done here, we need to go get you a Familiar.
