"He's. . .not. . ." Hitari wheezes. "He's not. . .a chaser. . .unless. . .you get him really angry. . .but then he just kills you on. . .the spot. . .but you don't need to worry. . .about that. . .I'm not mad. . .I'm. . .I'm not going to. . .just. . ." He drifts back to unconsciousness, falling limp.

Rin sighs and props Hitari up against a tree. He feels..... somewhat stronger, and not just because of the enchantment. A side effect of using too much magic. He sighs again and sits down. "I had better not use any more if I can afford it." He resolves to stay awake as long as he can that night, just in case.

His hand begins tightening as the boy flails uselessly. You know well as I do that mortality evades me. So why would you try killing me with a plain knife? He shakes his head. At least, this way, you'll be of some use.

The boy goes limp. Hitari, feeling nothing, proceeds to. . .uh, let's just say he harvests the bones.

Rin looks worriedly up at the sky, not sure what he should do now or after the sun rises. Rin, you truly are an idiot sometimes.

"Well, I don't really need to eat. . .oh! But there are those small berries - I call them deathberries." She giggles. "Because they're so sweet some animals fight over them! As for fun. . .hm. . ."

Shiawase pauses to think. "Well, I guess I don't really know. I just wander around and follow anything new. . .usually, before everyone split up, we held competitions. . .but I don't think you'd be able to survive those!"

Hitari finishes tying the bones together, smiling to himself. His best work yet.

Standing, he dusts himself off, only to jump with surprise, seeing Shiawase standing behind him. Shiawase, he says, sounding happy. What happened to meeting at the cave?

She shrugs. Just wanted to see you sooner. Hitari walks up to her and offers the bones. All fresh.

Shiawase squeals with joy and throws her arms around him, not seeing him blush with surprise. Thank you! They're beautiful, Itami~
