It's a miracle you don't trip - there's rocks and roots everywhere. You don't know if Itami is following you - though, he probably is. . .

Hitari stands on a tall hill. Underneath him, through the rolling valley, is a small village - perhaps about fifty houses. A sharp smile comes onto his face as he raises his hand. Above the town swirls a black sphere, darkening the sky.

Closing his hand, the orb explodes. Any screams end almost instantly.

He knows this is a dream, but it's still wonderful to watch it again.

Hitari mutters something in his sleep. He clearly has some broken bones, but they're knitting fast.

Rin is a poor runner, but his magic makes him somewhat competent. He constantly stumbles and trips, but there's no stopping now.

"Yes and no," says Shiawase. "It was much worse before. No grass, no river, no adorable little fellows - " She pauses to scratch the cougar's ears.

"But more or less, yep! He's a pretty powerful guy. Not very happy, though. . ."

(I mean, he is xD it's like making a castle in minecraft then your sibling blows it up but you have another one so it's just a bit irritating)

If you weren't running, you probably would be frozen by now, even with fire. It's so cold. . .

Hitari walks inside the ruined village, hoping there might be survivors he can finish off up close. A small cat runs across his path.

With no hesitation, he grabs it by the head and twists violently, tossing its body aside like a bit of trash.

Perfect, he murmurs to himself. Simply. . .perfect. . .

Hitari wakes with a start. At first, he's confused, then angry, then scared - he doesn't realize who has him as he starts flailing in a wild panic, eyes wide.

Rin realizes Hitari is awake and slows down a little, looking frantically in all directions. "Hitari, it's me! Rin! Itami..... I think he's after us!" Felix descends from the sky, landing on Rin's shoulder and startling him.

"It's funny," she says quietly. "He used to visit me every day. People always assumed the Acolytes were four siblings, but. . .we're not even family. Itami always brought me bones in a little bouquet. . ."

Shiawase stares off into space, then shakes herself and smiles. "I just haven't seen anyone for a while, especially not normal people."
