Itami steps back to give you a little space. Putting his hand in his? Hitari's? pocket, he pulls out and unfolds the knife, messing with it again.

It must be a tic or something for him. Maybe it's his form of entertainment? At any rate, where it cuts him, it heals almost instantly with no bleeding.

"People forget. . .that's how it works."

Itami realizes what he's doing and folds up the knife, tucking it away. He stands there awkwardly. "Sooooo. . .now that. . .nothing actually happening. . ."

This is one of the worst things I've ever consciously decided to do.

He knows, you know. . .he's not. . .an idiot.

Shut up and sleep. Itami closes his eyes and focuses for a second before opening them again and smiling at Rin. "It's getting dark out. . .are you going to the tree again?"

Wow, that didn't sound or look suspicious at all. He mentally bangs his head into a wall. Why is this making me nervous? This kid doesn't pose the slightest threat.
