Itami glances over as he hears Rin move. Seeing that he hasn't awakened, but seems close, he closes his hand. The blades stuck in the ceiling melt away.

Standing up, he walks over to Rin and pokes him rather roughly in the shoulder.

I wonder. . . he thinks. If I could pass as Hitari? Itami smiles to himself. An act.

He pokes Rin again. "Hey, are you okay? You've been out for a while." Forcing concern into his voice, Itami cringes at himself. Why am I torturing myself, who am I kidding.

Rin's eyes flutter open. He glances to Hitari.... Itami?.... and immediately shuts them again.
Oh God.

Itami clears his throat and pokes Rin again. "You've been out for. . .I don't know. . .at least half an hour? Are. . .you okay?"

He screams at himself in his mind. There's no reason for me to even be doing this - eh, the idea was fun at first, but actually doing it? This is disgusting - how does Hitari talk -

Rin opens his eyes, thinking it must be Hitari. "I'm.... fine," He says tenatively. "Thank you."
(poor naive bean XD)

(he will come to realization eventually XD)

"Oh, that's good," Itami says, trying not to smile at how pathetic Rin seemed to him. He glances at the owl. "And. . .the owl is just asleep. . .right?"

Without waiting for a reply, he nudges the owl softly.

"Y-yes," Rin says quietly. Felix wakes up, blinks at Itami, and scoots, terrified, into Rin.

Itami quickly draws his hand back. "Uh. . .is there a reason why he seems. . .scared. . .of me? He hasn't acted like this to me before."

Of course the owl knows, he scolds himself. It knew before, it would know now.
