It was mentioned in the initial post about custom orders: At this time, we are only allowing players to request designs. In the future, we may add a feature where players can create and design their own artwork. But for now, all artwork will be commissioned by our Site artists.

Oh. Yes. I mean, that specific part never was active. But we are shelving the entire service atm.

We very well may bring it back someday down the road with some changes. But in its current state, it's not self sustaining anymore.

Oh no. That means I actually have to use that custom gene I won. How awful. I have to be creative.

I'd like to chip in on what HibernusMortis said, because it's absolutely true.

Put things out into the world, because they are things you'd like to see. If you never try, then you'll never see it happen. If everyone in the world was afraid to try making something because someone else might hate it, then we would have nothing. It's like they say, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

When I'm really into something, I usually go to fanfics to sate my desire for more exposure to said thing. There's been two times where I couldn't find fanfics about what I specifically wanted to be reading about, so you know what I did? I wrote my own. And I put it out there into the world, in case anyone else was looking for the same things I was. And you know what? There were. They were only a handful a people, but to have even just that handful made it worth it to me.

But if everyone hated what I wrote, then hey, so what? I did it for myself, and I was happy with what I made. I'm not going to let people like that get me down, because it's true that you can't please everyone.*

If you let peoples' hate bring you down, then you're giving them the power.

You'll never know if you could have won if you don't try.

*In cases where people are constructively criticizing, I listen to what they say, because they wouldn't be doing it if they didn't want to help me get better at something. Just plain hating isn't helpful to anyone.

Look, today has been aweful for me...just absolutely aweful and horrific...
So when I read this earlier, my initial reaction wasn't the best because I was already in an aweful state of mind. I wasn't trying to lash out, or anything of that nature. My entire day has been so emotionally, physically, and emotionally draining that when I found out that something I wanted to try to do in the future I now won't be able to...I just finished braking down.

For me my art has never 100% about me! as an artist I create for myself just as much as others...and lately I've been very discouraged...having hit the largest and longest lasting creative block that I have ever had???now while inspiration hasn't been lacking per sae, the translation of thought to paper or other medium has resulted in some of the worst rough concepts that I've ever made...even compared to many of my other rough concepts during much smaller/minor creative blocks.

Additionally, I have placed plenty of my art out there, along with poems and portions of stories...and I hardly ever get any feedback on them...let alone positive feed back that I over all feel extremely ignored no matter where I go...so I'm sorry that what I said came across as offending, ect...it wasn't my intention.

In the note made of constructive criticism...I don't ever get that...either people ignore my work, like my work, or dislike/hate it...

Well, I certainly don't think anyone would be putting their art out there if they didn't want others to enjoy it too! I draw certain things that I like to share with others, but I also draw things only for myself, that I don't show to anyone else.

But my main point in all of what I was saying is simply that, you shouldn't let negativity bog you down. You shouldn't let people hating on your works make you afraid to try. As I said, that's just allowing them to control you, and that's a pretty unfair thing to do to yourself.

I suspect the part about offending isn't directed at me, but if it happens to include me, then let me also say that what you said didn't come off as offending. Or rather, it didn't come off as offending to me, I can't speak for anyone else. I don't tend to respond to anyone that's being offensive. All I saw in it was that you were relentlessly beating up on yourself when you really shouldn't be. It seemed to me like you could use a bit of encouragement, so that's why I'm posting to you. Even if it's not much, I wanted to help you. If I haven't been of any help, well then, I apologize for being unable to help, but I don't regret trying. n.n

Maybe add a kind of voting system to the suggestions forum to be able to push user suggestions through and filter through ideas?

I will start having design contests that aren't revolved around the festivals.
