It wouldn't appear that you were the reason it's blinded - for one, if you had stabbed its eye, it definitely would not be sitting here passively.

The wounds have already healed to faint scars. The cougar's tail goes back and forth slowly as you examine the scratches.

She patted its head before giving the pup ear scratches "im hungry" she said cuddling the baby fox

The pup licks your face, happy.

The cougar, with what seems to be a bit of effort, gets to its feet and mews. The pup perks up its ears and yips back. This continues for a while, then the cougar wanders off somewhere, silent.

The fox wriggles with joy - the cougar must have said something quite good for it to be like that.

Rin looks, ah, slightly frightened. "Um."

She watched it leave before sliding down the rock and setting the pup down kissing its head

The pup plops down into a sitting position, looking happy as it watches the cougar pace away in the distance.

The cougar sniffs the air - nothing. Not a single hint of prey above the ground.

Hitari looks away again. "Let. . .let me tell you something. Loneliness can be pain, but pain cannot be loneliness. It's like how a square is a rectangle, but the opposite is not true." He stops and thinks. "Wow, this is hard to explain now that I'm actually saying it aloud."

"Imagine this. Loneliness and pain are two friends - they don't exactly understand each other at times, but on occasion, it's like they're the same person. Sometimes, pain will take over if loneliness gives way."

He shakes his head. "That doesn't make sense either."

Rin nods slowly, gears turning in his head. Something clicks. "....I understand what you're saying! Loneliness leads to pain.... but pain does not lead to loneliness...."

She sighs and looks around "we cant stay here we will starve" she mumbled poking the water "not even a fish?"

The pup walks over and looks up at you, tilting its head inquisitively.

The cougar snaps its head up - it smelled something underneath that bush. Circling around, it can now make out a burrow in the roots. Sitting patiently at the entrance, it hears something shift inside. Shooting a paw in, the victim squeals, but is quickly cut off.

The cougar does this twice more. After it's all done, it puts its head inside the burrow and pulls out three good-sized rabbits - perfect, since there's three of you.
