Not sure your genre preferences but
A book series not listed (funny) The colour of magic (and the rest of the disc world books by Terry Pratchett )
Non anime tv: Lucifer
An anime not listed: I can think of a few but full Metal alchemist (brotherhood) was awesome (ghost in the Shell, and Fairy tail are really good too)
Manga: I always recommend anything by Clamp (chobits, XXX holic, Sakura card capture) I'm currently following one called Gate 7 they have started

I've actually seen (most of) Lucifer, it's great, and I'm pretty sad it got cancelled. I've also seen Fairy Tail.
I've been planning on watching FMAB for a while, but I can't watch it now because otherwise I will fail my finals (too busy watching it XD)
Cardcaptor Sakura? It's on my plan-to-watch list. Chobits... idk because the opening was weird, lol, but I'll give it a try. Ghost in the Shell I'll look into as well.
And I'll totally look at the books!!
