Ah, great topic idea, NBW! My username comes from a steampunk RP character that I created in the early 2000s. She's an ex-military sky pirate, full name: Colonel Adrianna Hazard; captain of the airship Perennial Fortune. I loved the name and character so much that I started using it as my username on non-steampunk sites and it's probably my most commonly used online handle now. Well actually, this is my backup username ^^ I used it because for some reason the first email didn't reach my mailbox, and so I couldn't register using the first IGN "EDelfen"

EDelfen's story come from WAAY back (like 13~14 years ago ^^) my name was on french forums "elfe de la foret" (wood elf ^^) then it was take, I tried "elfen" then so it would not be taken I chose EDelfen

And I brainstomed for like 3 min for the backup one and have used it since then ^^

I have wanted this specific username ever since I found out how useful yet deadly uranium is. On every site I've joined, this name has been taken, or is overused.

So, I would use the username Scarab[insert random numbers/letters/underscores] on many sites. I got tired of this name variation after 5 (or so) years of heavy use, so I tried to use tygercan. I realized this wasn't very original, so I dug through my phone's autocorrect dictionary while naming a character for some-crappy-phone-mmorpg-i-no-longer-play, and the name utripd somehow appeared.

I decided utripd was a really ugly looking name, so I chose to use the names caliguican or lemant. lemant is a combo of lemons and anthers (it was the flower unit of bio). caliguican is the combo of caliginous, toucan, and the letter u. (the u is for smoothness)

My username started on my friends Role Play website and is derived from my Fanfiction.net username, TopazVampire1999. But I didn't want to be a vampire on that RP site so I was it all I had left was just topaz. then it hit me. I was JustTopaz.

or something like that. Now I use this user for a lot of games. I still her TopazVampire1999 on Wattpad and some other creative writing places.
