They'll come, Crimson promises. Shootingstar said so. That he'd find the fire from our camp tonight once he rounded up the others.
"Shootstar is the pegasus foal," I ask her while making the fire, "would you like to see if you can breath fire?"

You first see the Wyvern, with something hanging out its mouth.
Then you see Balthur rearing up and trying to grab what you realise is his hay mat from the creature's mouth. "Give that back now, you cheeky little-"
You don't here his next words over the Wyvern's rumbling chuckle. It lifts its head higher, mischief dancing in its eyes.

Crimson licks her lips. Sure. I already learned how to, she says proudly. She pads over to the fire and, before you can do anything, sticks her head into it and takes a deep breath.

I watch curiously, "Be careful and don't burn anything down."

"Hey, put that down boy." Nicote calls to the wyvern. Not that it'd probably listen but it was worth a shot.

She backs out of the fire. You note that there are now blazing orange patterns glowing underneath her fur that weren't there before. Don't worry. I have perfect control, she yips, promptly singing the grass as she opens her mouth and breathes out.

"Impressive, "I remark, ''now do you want to call it a night?'

(It is indeed :P)
His head snaps round to look at you, and he opens his jaws and lets the mat flutter to the ground. Balthur picks it up, brushing the back of his hand down it.
"He's gone and put holes in it," he grumbles, but then looks from the Wyvern to you. "But what did I tell you? He likes you."
The Wyvern blinks, a frustrated look on its face. It spits precisely on Balthur's mat and stalks back to the cart, curling up in a ball and facing away from you both.
"Let him have his little tantrum," Balthur shrugs, tossing his mat into the back of the cart. "We'd better pack up camp."

Yeah. She swallows a couple of times, screwing her eyes shut and wriggling. Her patterns dim a little. Oh, I've been needing fire for ages. That nasty Dwarf poured water over me and put all my old fire out. I miss my old fire.
