"Nah, I want to do something productive. Exciting. Maybe even start a family" he flopped back, looking ahead, "Can't imagine being cooped up having to teach others, then watch them be successful while I'm left behind in the dumps."

She sighed, sitting down. Not knowing what to do.

"Cool. I actually was starting to learn the guitar because my dad was making me go to lessons, but ever since..." She trailed off, getting lost in her thoughts

"Ever since?" He questioned, urging her to finish what she had been saying. The cool night air brushed past and he was glad he was bundled up in a warm jacket.

The gentle breeze rustled her hair. She took a deep breath and said, "My dad died. From cancer."

"Oh." He was more quiet now, his voice solemn. "I know this won't really be much consolation, but I'm sorry you had to go through that."

She smiled sadly. "It's fine. I didn't come here looking for pity." There were goosebumps on her arms, but she didn't say anything. She was stupid enough to not bring a jacket on the ride.

"I know..." He frowned, before his gaze flickered to her arms. A quick tug on the reins got Knight to slow down. "Wait."

Without saying anything as he did it, he pulled his jacket over his shoulders and held it out to her. "I know it might be too big and smell like it's been drowned in cologne but you seem pretty cold. I'm can handle the cold better. Some New Jerseyan you are," he teased in the end. "Feeling cold out here."

She stopped Storm. "Oh, uh..." She took the jacket and put it on. "Thanks. Now come on. The trail's not gonna ride itself." She pushed Storm into a trot
