Rin looks down at the little creature. "Hey, little guy." The wound has healed over nicely. "You seem to be in a better way now."
The owl turn towards the sound of your voice. It looks quite young, but not little as a hatchling. Its eyes are closed shut - probably because it's a little bright with the sunlight from the window.
Hitari's breathing becomes hoarse, and he's still staring at nothing. . .

As you approach the cougar, its tail twitches, but otherwise, it doesn't move. It still has some raw scratches from when you swatted at it with the stick, but nothing really seems wrong.
The pup curls up on the cougar's back, seeming content.

Rin looks at Hitari, a little worried, but he doesn't see anything he can do. He steps in the way of the sunlight to give the owl some shade.

After nearly another minute passes, Hitari blinks and his expression disappears. "Uh, sorry. I was just. . .thinking. About something."
He looks down at the little owl. "Oh, the little guy's awake."

"Yeah," Rin replies. "He looks pretty good, considering the state he was in!" He examines the owl, satisfied with his own work. "I would say he was ready to release under different circumstances..... but knowing how things are around here, I'm not sure it would be safe...."

"I didn't even know there were any birds left," Hitari says. "So. . .yeah. Probably shouldn't release him, otherwise what could very well be the last bird's gone."
He shifts in the chair, looking perturbed.

"Yeah....." Rin puzzles for a second. "Well, we should at least give him a name. 'The Owl' is a little impersonal if he's staying here for a while."
