(You can check your inventory for further reference, I usually keep it up to date :P)

Unfortunately, you don't have any hard currency that you could make an offer with. Your possessions, meanwhile, are few, and what you've brought with you in your satchel is meager--just a few servings of dried fruit and a steel dagger you've picked up at some point during the years. Though there's nothing there of outstanding trading value, you may be able to make one of those things do with a little convincing and bartering--or you might need to find another method of payment.

I pull out a couple things of dried fruit. "I don't have much on me, but I do have some dried fruits. They actually aren't half bad." I explained to the boy. I chuckled softly, perhaps a little bit embarrassed.

"No," she replies sarcastically, "there is not one single inn in this entire town. Of course there is!" She gestures vaguely behind the two of you. "I've been to this town before--there's one not far from here that'll do well. Come on."
Without waiting for a response, she leads you and the horse down a few twisting streets and back alleys until you're stopped in front of a small inn. A few berry-laden bushes and potted flowers line the path to the door, with lanterns in the windowsills lending the place a warm atmosphere. Wind chimes jangle softly and there's a soft gust of warm air as the woman pulls the door open and gestures for you to head inside. "Go on and ask if there's a room for two, will you? I've got something to attend to, but I'll join you in just a minute. Don't worry about payment--I'll cover it."

mind if i join?

Form

Basic
Name

Carter Reagan Tews (Goes by her full name, Carter)

Gender/Pronouns

Female
She/her

Age

17

General Appearance

Carter is fairly human, if one ignored the markings across her shoulders, occasional scales, and webbing across her calves. Her shoulder markings mostly blend with her skin, glowing a faint blue on sporadic occasions. Carter does not know why this occurs. The scales are a mixture of blues, found on her wrists, ankles, neck - practically anywhere in small clusters. They're relatively small patches, and can easily be hidden with clothing, or covered with paints if needed (though it causes a nasty rash and burns if they're painted over) The webbing across Carter's calves is extremely delicate, and if even brushed up against can cause an antagonizing pain. Thus, Carter generally covers them with tightly wrapped cloth in order to ensure their protection. If they were to be, say, stabbed or something, (of course, that would never happen) the pain would likely cause Carter to faint. (or worse)

As for her more human appearance, Carter has semi-tanned skin, and dark brown hair falling mid-way down her back. She generally pulls it back into a loose braid, as it tends to tangle and frizz when left down. Her eyes are an odd mixture of green and brown, often looking different depending on the lighting. She is of average height, but thick-boned and can appear slightly overweight.

Starting Location
Hanne

Personality

Carter bridges towards the quieter side, though she's very good at hiding it - if she wants. With her closest friends, Carter will tend to be more impulsive, and act like a different version of herself. Carter tends to judge people to quickly (even if she does have a decent intuition), and is very hesitant to give second chances. Often, she'll turn down good opportunities if she doesn't trust the giver of them. Though Carter tries to act nice, if she doesn't like someone, she will get uncharacteristically snarky.

Backstory

Carter had a pretty normal childhood, to be honest. She was raised by two parents - neither of which shared her strange traits - and grew up in Hanne. Carter never really had many friends, and would generally spend her time studying unnecessarily. Carter has a blank spot in her memory a few years ago, when she supposedly got hurt. Carter knows no more than this.

Likes

Quiet
Night/Stars
Loyalty
Smiles from strangers

Dislikes

Bright lights
Loud noises
Secrets
Unnessesary Distrubances

Fears

Carter is terrified of being hurt, likely due to the sensitive webbing on her calves. It used to be a minor fear, but now it overtakes her - expecially if she's around a potential danger. Carter also fears strange noises.

Ambitions/Dreams

Carter wants to prove herself, but she lacks a specific idea/senario to do so.

Biggest Flaw

Carter is very judgemental, and often gives into fear.

Other

"I'd apologize if I thought I was wrong, but I really don't think I'm wrong."

"Alright. Very pretty inn." She stepped through the door and looked around the room. I wonder whats so important that she had to leave almost immediately. She put the hood of her cloak back on, to try and appear normal to whoever ran this place.

(Accepted! Is it alright if I give her the metal allergy as her other weakness?)

(Also, does Carter live with her parents?)

The first thing you notice when you awaken is the sound of rain pounding down upon your rooftop. Judging by its intensity, it's nothing near a drizzle, either. Still, for a moment, you're almost lulled back to sleep by the comfort of your bed and the rhythm of the rain--that is, until another sound reaches your ears.
Though it's distant and muffled by the rain, it's unmistakable: the ringing of the town bell. There's only one thing such a bell can mean--that traders have arrived in Hanne.
It's been a longer period than usual since the last traders stopped by, and most of Hanne's craftsmen are no doubt more than looking forward to doing business with new faces. Even to those like you who don't have goods to trade and sell yourself, the goods the traders will bring from distant lands are usually worth anticipation. Not to mention that prices are cheapest and inventory broadest on trading day, so there's plenty of dealings for everyone.
Before long, you know from previous years' experience, the quiet morning will be disrupted by chatter and bustle, though it's not certain how exactly it's going to work in such weather. Nevertheless, trading day is one of the town's largest events, and, rain or shine, it must go on. If you like, you'll soon certainly to be able to see it for yourself.

What do you wish to do?

Yes for both :)

I sit up, considering the idea for a few moments. Trading day was a good day to obtain materials for cheap prices, but the entire town of Hanne was also there. Which likely meant pushing and shoving and injuries-
But it would be good to get out there. I grunted, shoving myself out of bed and wrapping cloths around my calves to protect them. I could just stay on the outskirts; only talk to the traders who weren't doing much business. I would still experience Trading Day - kind of - without running the risk of getting hurt. I nodded to myself; it was the only way to do it. Besides, it was raining. I would be fine.

As you head further into town, you pass a variety of shops, though most are not to your needs--a blacksmith, a bakery, yet more florists. But down a side street shaded by blossoming trees, you find what you're looking for. It seems even a bookstore isn't spared from Ravyne's flowers--vines adorn bookcases, and baskets of flowers hang from the ceiling.
At a book and flowerpot-laden desk, you're greeted by the clerk, a middle-aged woman who's currently placing several thick volumes into a paper bag--one that seems far too small for the books she's meticulously packing in it. Behind her, a girl with ribbons braided into her hair is balanced precariously on the top step of a ladder next to a bookshelf, with a watering can in one hand and another book tucked under the other.

"Herbs and medicine?" muses the woman. "Why, of course! They'll be in the botany section, it's, ah--"
"The furthest shelves in the back right!" shouts the girl, nearly toppling off the ladder in her enthusiasm. "Just in time, too, we got a new shipment of books yesterday!"
The woman shoots her a good-natured glare, adding, "Yes, yes, that's right. We haven't finished sorting the new arrivals, so I can't yet say if there are any on that subject, but you can look through them too and see if any catch your fancy. I'm sure Dianthe here would love to show you where they are, isn't that so?"

He takes the fruit from you, squinting at it curiously. Then, he takes a bite of one with a nod. "Deal!" he declares with his mouth full, picking up the stone that you've chosen and presenting it to you. "They're delicious--I mean, it is a worthy trade, so I will let you have this. Be careful with it, now."
Just as he hands you the rock, however, there's a crash and alarmed shouts from the large stall right beside you. It seems as though one of the tables has somehow come crashing entirely down, broken glass and beads scattering across the pavement right by your feet.
"My figurines!" one of the vendors shouts, bending down in some attempt to fix the damage or salvage her work, but in doing so accidentally crashes into a pole holding up the awning above her head. The wind catches the end of the fabric, ripping it free of the pole--and leaving the stall and its customers open to the pouring rain.
Then, amidst the chaos, someone cries, "Thief! There's been a thief!"

Your success in conducting a trade, albeit one with a child, has given you just a little more experience with social interaction.
