Rin is glad the creature is gone. He gets up and wanders the fields a little, then mustering all his courage knocks on Hitari's door again.


You hear a loud bang and Hitari swear (again). After a couple seconds, he opens the door, rubbing his knee. He stares at you blankly, then starts. "Oh, it's you - Rin," he says, glancing around. "Uhm. . .why are you here?"

Everything basically looks the same, but on the small table under the window, a folded sheet lies.

The small owl is on top of that - still alive, too. You can see it breathing.

"Well. . .welcome back?" Hitari says.

The pup looks at you, at the cougar, then back.

It comes tottering to you, but it looks concerned for the cougar.

The pup must be either quick to forgive, forgetful, or both. . .

Hitari stops moving halfway through closing the door. "I. . .don't know. . .what you're talking about, pal."

After a few seconds he gets it shut and looks back at you. "Nothing happened. . .last night."
