"Nope, a party. Actually we're here just to level up and find some gold for a username change. Pridia's overrun by Synosure already, so no point staying there if we don't have to." He does the same with his book.

Alex just tried not to gag. Which meant he had a weird esspression and looked ready to either puke, choke, or do something that might make him look bad in someone else's eyes.
