Yeah I tried it on my sisters laptop and there was no issue, but whenever I try to nurture in my iPad I have to constantly reload.

Just for an added datapoint, I play on an ipad and I have not run into this issue. I use chrome rather than safari, though.

So, unfortunately, I am not really able to discern what exactly the issue is. =\

Apple has ceased a Windows version of Safari for quite some time so I am unable to download the browser and test for myself (I don't own any Apple products lol).

Looking at the code, the only way for that error to display like that is if the entire connection fails to the page that actually processes the nurture. If that connection is made at all, even if there is an error, it will display an actual in-page error. The script error (that breaks the page), means that something really went wrong and the script didn't even get a response from the nurturing file. This is why the page breaks - the script doesn't know what possibly went wrong and assumes something with the page is broken beyond repair and requests for a full page reload.


Do you have any issues elsewhere on the site while using this browser? I use AJAX calls all over the site and I'm not quite sure what makes the Nurturing Grounds unique here to where it would be the only feature breaking. But if that is the case, it would at least narrow things down quite a bit for me and I can continue trying to dig through the script.

The only other place I've noticed it is when swapping pets in stables:

Specifically when trying to open a pet page in a new tab, the focus state (pressing and holding on mobile, equivalent to right clicking) does not cause a menu to come up. I usually end up pressing off the link, which causes the pets to switch places. I get the same error when this happens, but on reload it goes to the pet page. This is consistently replicable.

I rarely play on mobile devices, so there may be others I miss.

I was trying to replicate the Stables bug with my phone (Android 10 on a Note 9), but was unable to. =\ Everything worked as intended albeit a little unfriendly since on mobile. But no bugs or errors or anything of that nature.

Unfortunately, it's just going to be very difficult for me to figure this out without being able to reproduce it myself or knowing exactly what triggers the error everytime.

I don't know if the issue I'm having is related to the same thing as this but every nurture I do in the Nurturey freezes the popup nurture window open where nothing I click does anything inside the site except clicking the pet's ID inside the popup window opens the pet page in a new tab and I can still scroll the backgroung page. I have to force reload the page at my address bar after every nurture and re-enter my preferences. After I nurture, under the pet I nurture, in the background, it changes to Nurtured in green letters, the Counter goes from 0 to 1, and my Scales number increases, so it seems to be registering the nurture correctly; just the popup has no way to close? After force refreshing, the nurtured Sylesties no longer show up, also implying that the nurture is successfully registering. Before the change, I would nurture a Sylesti and could click another Sylesti with or without closing the popup and that pet would pop up to be nurtured and I could do an entire set in that manner before clicking to get a new set.

I don't have an ad blocker, but I do have a decently short list of specific sites blocked that do make some ads not show on some sites with advertisements. On average, I would estimate that this blocks 1/4th to 1/3rd of the ads here on Sylestia, but there doesn't seem to be any ad space in the Nurturey so I'm not sure if that would have an effect... I do have a popup blocker, but Sylestia is on my safelist and I don't have any issues at all with any other popups on Sylestia. I use IE and I think it's up to date; I usually get a notification when there's an update and I don't have a notification at this time. I'm not sure what else may be pertinent information, except maybe that I have done this Nurturing several times over maybe a couple of hours so I'm not sure if it could be a time-based issue, but I don't think so?

Edit 5:04pm : I thought of something that I may have in common with others that may be having a similar issue. My laptop is a touch screen, if that affects anything... I saw that most people here that were having a similar problem were on mobile devices that were probably touch also... I have no idea if that has anything to do with it as I've used both touch and mouse to try it, but I know that touch controls have different effects for some things than hard mouse so perhaps it could be.

I have issues in general trying to play Sylestia on Safari~ It was literally impossible for me to do anything in the Lost Grove and page reloads were all the time. I ended up just downloading and switching browsers (Google Chrome) to play Sylestia on my Mac and haven't had any issues since then. Safari just doesn't like Sylestia. TwT

I believe Internet Explorer is no longer up to date and has been discontinued.

Edge is the new web browser that Microsoft is utilizing now. Most likely, as time goes on, more and more things will break/stop working in Internet Explorer since it no longer has support.

That said, it's possible this issue isn't necessarily a browser issue. The only way to know for sure would be to test in other browsers to see if the issue exists in only specific ones or not.

I am unable to reproduce this issue on any of my devices. =\

Im not sure if this is helpful for understanding the issue or not, but just in case, I used to have this problem with my old iPad with iOS 10-something but it is no longer an issue (it works beautifully, yay!) on my new one with iOS 14 in Firefox and Safari.
