Is there going to be a difference between "stockpiled" and "new" AP?

Having a chance to get unique gear is a great reward for old players. But whats to stop someone from *not* using up their stockpile now, and then buying up all the new AP shop items later?

Highly doubtful. At this point in time, I don't know specifically what the things will be. I obviously have some general ideas of what I'd want to do, but nothing solidified in stone.

Among all of those though, they're all account specific type rewards.

The only possibility may be pet related stuff - of which - then in effect it'd be tradeable because pets are always tradeable with exception to Starter Pets.

Before the eventual AP Shop is released, any remaining AP over 100,000 for players will be forcibly converted into something else and their totals will be reduced to 100,000.

So basically:

Step 1: Provide special ways for players with huge stockpiles to offload their points into unique/exclusive/limited things
Step 2: Remove any excess points above the cap
Step 3: Add in the AP Shop

When you & the rest of the site staff and moderators start planning what, in the (hopefully near) future, to make purchasable via APs, do please consider additional stable tabs, and maybe reclaiming released pets, too, particularly forcibly released ones. how do you get AP

Oh sweet! I was just lamenting mine the other day since, there is very little actual use for it? It seemed like such a wasted currency. 60k+ for me, but I know others have tons more. I was thinking to my self, "Can't I just,, convert this,, to scales or gold plzz.... so useless..."

This is great news! I'm almost at the end of the upgrades we can get with AP and needed more things to spend them on!
