I could definitely see "being able to search topics" working in some way where you can add tags to a thread like max stat, project, competition, ect.
I think they would be a great way to filter the forums and find things you're looking for, particularly for competitions.

Each post and thread has a specific ID, the first thread made with the number 1. SO if you were to delete things you had to make sure no on else has posted anything.

Although, maybe I have a new idea.... maybe we can find the threads made by a specific person

I really like the search for topics idea! It would save lots of time especially during the fests where threads get pushed down so quickly. This feature could also be used to find your own threads since I can usually remember the title but I don't want to dig through tabs of forum threads looking for it even though it's a lot simpler now that there's an icon highlighting your own threads.

I would also like to expand on this idea and suggest having a forum equivalent of the advanced search where you can search for threads with specific keywords, made by so and so, made before this date or after this date, etc. This feature can even be placed in the basic forum page so that you can either search in a specific forum or across all forums.

Also, in response to a couple objections made to the deleting your own threads idea, maybe this feature can only be available if no one else has posted in your thread yet. Maybe this ends up making it too complicated but I can see it's use for if you accidentally made your thread in the wrong forum and realized right away.
