She was rude, and behave like she was entitled to getting Elswyth even after I refused three separate times. :/

I'm sorry you got treated that way LDD. :c
You have two Elswyths, are you speaking of the Evergreen or Irish Luck puff? I remembered I could read, lol.
I don't get many requests for pets, in most cases I don't mind and give them the pet. I have had one person ask me to trade, I said I wasn't too interested in the particular pets they had, and they messaged me again with the exact same copy pasted question two days later (the topic line was even a RE: to my no thank you). ._. Although by then they did have a pet I wanted and they were nice about it, so I caved.

Sadly, I've had it happen a few times...but all things considered 5 times in like 3 years on the site isn't too bad though it's still really annoying/frustrating. I just really hate having to say the same thing more than once to the same person.
My Evergreen Puff, she was my very first 3-vis wheel pet(back when the wheel was a thing).
Normally if my proposal is refused, I just leave it at that unless I do get something the other person would actually be interested in.

I've never had anyone get obnoxious about wanting one of my pets, though I have had a few people, newbies, mostly, become a bit . . . insistent about me lowering a breeding fee.
More often, a new player wants to buy one of my particularly valued pets, I offer instead to breed a similar or identical pet for them, they agree--
--and before the pet even hatches, the player has to all appearances abandoned Sylestia.
Homera, maybe you simply have some of the best pets? (Just a theory.)
