I am, perhaps, a bit confused. Are you saying we are Ad-exempt if we a) buy diamonds from the diamond shop, b) buy or sell diamonds on the currency exchange, c) buy ITEMS from the diamond shop and/or d) any or none of the above.

This was the last site I had to play which didn't have ads sucking up my downloads for the month. :(

I understand the need for the adds to help with generating income for the site, and I will allow them to run. I've never been overly bothered by adds, except for the audio ones and the pop up ones. I'm glad the ones here will only be banner style. :)

I also buy diamonds fairly frequently, so I guess I will also be seeing the lack of adds from time to time as well. However, with the condition of the Canadian dollar right now, I may not be buying diamonds as often for the time being. :( It's depend on my funds at the time of sales.

I also left neopets because of their ads. I was actually getting viruses on my computer from the ads. Also, having a very very slow internet myself, ads make everything lag terribly.

I will do my best to block the ads on my end, but this may cause me to eventually leave the site. Not trying to be nasty about it, thats just my personal situation.

The exemptions only come from purchasing Diamonds from the Site directly.

The ads are set up on the Site in such a way that they only load once the page has finished loading. I don't think there should be any performance issues.

Does the "buy diamonds to avoid ads" thing apply retroactively or from the time of implementation?

Yes. I am working on that now before enabling them.

I am okay with ads as long as they aren't the ones that suddenly pop up over the screen without warning <_< or cause my browser to freeze/crash/suddenly refresh random tabs or spontaneously restart my computer (took a long time for me to figure out what was doing it)... ._. Those ones seem to be the ads with videos embedded within them or ones with long running scripts... :/ I prefer the still ads and simple animated ads, but even Flash ads (which slow my computer down quit a bit, especially if there's more than 1 at a time) are more tolerable than the video ads... >_< I'm not familiar with the ad in the first link, but it seems simple enough. The other 2 in the other 2 links seem to run fine on my computer; I've encountered them several times on other sites I sometimes go to. If that helps any. ^_^

(not trying to complain or anything; just want the most optimal outcome ^_^ )

I guess its fair. My parents dont ever aloud me to spend any real money on any virtual games, but Im not gonna go against it cause I understand that you need to make some money somehow.

It does make me a bit sad though (but it doesnt mean I'll stop playing... Unless it brings viruses to our computer, or it crashes my Ipad.)

Since these are banner adds without audio, I wouldn't mind them. Glad to be able to support Sylestia without buying diamonds. :)
