Are all of the eggs spawning correctly? I've been through all of zone 3 except the forgotten caverns, and I haven't found my current egg. The clue doesn't imply it's in the caves.

As far as I am aware, yea.

If Astryl's Vale is open, are all the eggs found throughout ONLY that area, or are they throughout the entire map?

For the easter egg hunt, will the egg show up as soon as we explore the correct area? Or will we have to explore for a while before it appears? I'm trying to figure out if I interpreted a clue wrong and am in the wrong area, or if I just need to persevere here in this area because they don't show up right away.

Depends on the zone.
If you're exploring the older zones, then you'll need to fight enemies until it says you found it.
If you're in the newer ones, then it spawns in the area.

In Viridian Meadows and Umbra Forest, you'll probably have to explore the correct area for a while before the Easter Egg appears. In Astryl's Vale, once you're in the correct area you still have to locate the correct spot in that area.

Thanks! So in the older zones it spawns specifically be defeating enemies? I can't just retreat from battles to speed through the area and only open chests?

Now, that I don't know. At least once I have had the Easter Egg appear the instant I entered the correct zone.
