Rubbing sleep from my eyes, I realise that he is probably the reason that I'm not too cold. Usually I would probably have had to work the chill from my bones.

A smile forming on my lips, I give Branch's head a comforting pat. "Morning Branch," I say with a yawn. I'm not sure if I could wriggle from his coils even if I tried. But we should be getting up and either training some more or working back the money I spent on supplies. Or hunting. Becoming self-sufficient would be a good idea for the both of us.

Hunting, I think to myself. It was certainly more appealing than trying to find a place to work for a day with a dragon.

I look to Branch. "You want to go and hunt?"

He bowed his head 'Yes, if you could go and retrieve it..." he wheezed again "that would be ideal"

he yawns and opens one eye to look at you. He seems to understand the word hunting and perks up as if asking "food?"

I laugh before saying, "I knew you were a smart one, Branchie. At least, so long as it involves food."

I get my bow out, the string twanging as I test it, not for the first time. Hopefully those hours spent getting used to archery will be worth it when it comes to breakfast or no breakfast. Even if I was to miss, I had a feeling that Branch would be more than capable hunting his own meal. And even if he wasn't, he'd get better at it all the same.

"Come on then," I say, sitting up. "Hunting it is."

You wake up again in the morning an hour or two past dawn.

Anything specific you want to hunt or just looking for any random tracks?

you go into the village to find a quaint little sleepy town. Most of the people seem to be just waking up and light smoke comes from many of the chimneys of the town.
