You see it open an eye and it raises it's head looking in your direction. It's eyes narrow but it seems curious rather than anything else.
"Good day to you, noble Earth Dragon," I say respectfully. It might not understand me, but speaking to it would maybe make a difference. "I'm sorry for interrupting your rest, but I thought that perhaps you would like a friend just as much as me."
I step up to it, smiling and slowly offering out my hand. In my palm is the dragon treat. I hope it is as appealing to the dragon as I think it is. "A small peace offering between friends, am I right?"

He tilts his head to the side and you see it's nostrils flare when you put out the dragon treat. It takes a step closer and looks to want the dragon treat but is still hesitant to get it.

Oh! I'm so sorry, my computer glitched out for the SECOND time and wouldn't let me onto this site for over month, AGAIN. Today it finally worked and I have 83 bloody pings to check.
Anyways...
"All that equipment comes out to 221g" He said merrily handing you your things
"Thank you!" I say, handing over the coins before I take the supplies. Leaning against the counter, I ask, "So, have you heard of any wild dragon sightings recently? Or do you know any good places to find them?"

You find what looks to be a trade route to the mountains.
(btw i'm thinking of doing a half mystery half story based rpg

I ease myself down to the ground and hold the treat in the palms of both hands, raising it a little above my head. "I don't bite. Why don't you?" I ask softly, before thinking about what I actually just said. "The treat, I mean." I correct myself.
If it's still hesitant, I decide that I'll probably put it on a patch of grass in front of me in case that helps. Until then, I watch from the corner of my eye for the dragon's reaction.

It seems to be more confident when you look away and it gets closer before gingerly picking the treat up and eating it.
