Having once again decided not to accuse anyone, the villagers all eventually shrugged and filed out of the room under the suspicious, searching gaze of the mayor, although she didn't say a word.
The villagers, of course, were certain that yet another murder was going to be committed this night, but, unable to do anything on their own and entirely lacking the knowledge of who the murderer even was, resigned themselves to their fates, or at least most of them.
No players eliminated this phase.
Night Phase 3 has begun!
There will be no in-game talking between anyone during this time, with the exception of the Mafia, who may talk amongst themselves via PM.
You may write your character going home or something for one post if you so wish, but that's about it.
- Mafia may discuss and decide on one person to eliminate during this time. (If you are a Mafia, please try not to leave anyone out in the decision. Oh, and I want to hear your plotting if you're willing to include me xD)
- Everyone else with a special role may also DM me the person they wish to act upon during this time. (If you're a Medic or Role Blocker, don't forget your cooldowns for acting upon the same person!)
- All other Villagers must sit tight and hope they don't die.
- This phase may last up to 48 hours in real time. If all people with special roles DM me with their action or specifically tell me that they wish to opt out of acting before the 48 hours are up, the phase will end early.
- If you have a special role and do not DM me within the 48 hours, you will be skipped.

Just as everyone expected, they were all summoned to the courthouse the following morning. Having already gotten used to the morbid pattern, they now whispered among themselves theories as to who had been killed and how, until the mayor made her appearance at the podium.
"Citizens of Sylestivale, I once again bring you unfortunate news, yet news that may be perhaps slightly less dreadful than there has been in prior days.
Once again, last night, a murder was attempted, on none other than the Aurleon artist Esmeray. However!"
The villagers all jumped, having barely begun to whisper amongst themselves at this terrible development, or even look around to note the absence of the painter. The mayor took a deep breath.
"Do not fret, for there is a fortunate outcome to this tale. The victim in question was fortunate enough to survive this attempt on their life. This gives us hope that the murderers may be stopped, however they still clearly lurk among us. Therefore, despite our good fortune, we must still hold a trial, one that, with possible aid from the testimony of our survivor, may hopefully bear greater fruit than the previous ones. Esmeray, would you like to recount your experience last night to start off today's trial?"
Day Phase 3 has begun!
In-game discussion may occur publicly on this thread (and only this thread) during this time.
- Anyone is welcome to speak or say anything in-game at any time during this phase (you don't need to follow a strict format or anything), however, this discussion has one main intention: to decide on and vote out a suspect.
- At any time, you may decide to officially vote or nominate someone by saying anything along the lines of "I decide to vote for/nominate ___" in bold on the thread, or through a DM to me. Keep in mind that there is a difference between simply accusing someone and actually voting/nominating them. Only vote/nominate someone if you have firmly decided that you want them out!
If you find yourself being nominated, it's usually in your best interest to try and defend yourself however you want, though people may still vote for you anyways.
You do not have to give a reason for nominating/voting for someone, though it may help your case.
(A nomination is simply the first public accusation of someone, voting is basically just "hopping on board" of the nomination. There's not some important difference between them, it just makes the trial clearer.)
- You may also opt out of voting entirely by saying "I decide not to vote at all" in bold.
- Use the pinglist only if you are nominating someone or have another announcement you think everyone should know. If you're replying to someone, e.g. defending yourself against a nomination or agreeing with someone, please only ping those involved. Make sure you ping me if you decide to vote publicly.
- You may decide to change your vote at any time (but try not to do it too much for my sake). Again, your vote may be cast publicly (declaring on the thread) or in a private DM to me.
- In order to eliminate someone through voting, they must have a majority of all votes and at least 3 votes by the end of the phase. If the majority of voters specifically wish to opt out or no one has more than 2 votes, no one gets eliminated.
-This phase may last up to 96 hours in real time, loosely divided into 48 hours for discussion and 48 for voting. If all people DM/ping me with their vote/nomination or specifically tell me that they wish to opt out of voting before the 96 hours are up, the phase will end early.
- If you do not vote within the time limit, you will be skipped. Failing to act within the time limit is not the same as an opt-out in this situation-- it does not count for or against any side, it is ignored entirely.
- Roleplaying and random discussions are encouraged, this is just the loose format to follow as you do so.
- Don't forget to ping me if you post your vote on the thread!
(Oh, and if you are dead, you cannot vote! Though I guess you can still say stuff out-of-game.)
(I should also add: sorry for not stating this earlier, but Mafia can't try to kill the same person twice in a row. They can wait a night and then try to kill them again if it failed the first time, but you can't immediately target someone until they die.)
(Oh, and day phase length is now automatically extended to 96 hours.)

"What good fortune we have had tonight! Esmeray tell us your story, how did they try to kill you and more importantly, how did you escape death?" Missy's eyes are hopeful that maybe form now on Esmeray's story of escaping death would be more common. They might just have a chance of keeping this town.

Esmeray fidgeted with her paintbrush, slightly uncomfortable under the attention.
"I was out foraging for berries yesterday night to make more paint, since my stores were running low," she began. "But as I was searching, I heard an ominous crack above me. I looked up, and saw that a branch had been broken. I dove to the side, but the branch fell on my legs. I don't know what happened, but something must've, because I eventually wriggled out and my legs felt just fine. I flew back to my house after that, and nothing else of interest happened for the rest of the night."
"But I never did end up getting those berries," she grumbled, shaking out her feathers.

"Soory for all the questions, but you're the only survivor from this so far, and if we are to catch the ones responsible we need all the information we can get."

Snekly listened carefully to Esmeray and, when she was done, Snekly nodded. "I find it odd that all the murders had something related to food, a type of fruit specifically. Watermelon first, then apples, and then berries. Clearly the murderer, or murderers, are either fruit lovers or haters, probably the former." She pawed the ground. "Who do we know loves fruit?"

"I didn't get to see the murderers," Esmeray said apologetically. "Whoever it was must've been hidden amongst the leaves, and I didn't think to check after I'd escaped the branch."
