Not wanting to spend another second there, Itami starts pulling you two away - and probably would've traveled quite a ways, if Zandaka didn't call out. "Itami; Shiawase; Isorin. Where are you three going?"

Itami sucks in breath and turns around slowly. Ooh, ah, you. . .seem rather busy, and we'd, uh, hate to interfere with whatever backwards scheming you're brewing over there. So, we were just. . .going to take a walk and come back; see if you're done then. . .?

Shiawase resists the urge to facepalm. Why must he be so timid around Zandaka?! she mentally screams. If he were more confident during all of this involving her, we probably could've steered this in a positive direction. . .!

"Really, you ought to stay - because it is for everyone's benefit," Zandaka replies as she focuses back on Hitari. "Would you mind allowing us to converse with the other, now?"

"Yes," he grumbles. "I really would - "

"Well, shame."

Rin glances to Itami and Shiawase, hoping this doesn't goes too badly. Because the worst case scenario in this situation is- well. Not good.
He nods quickly, acknowledging Zandaka and looking a little like a scared rabbit.

"Now, look here," Zandaka continues, firmly grasping Hitari's shoulder. "You can either choose to sleep yourself, or I can do it for you - the result'll be the same, but I can promise you that the latter will last. . .oh, just a little longer."

Hitari blinks, taken aback by her harsh tone. "Jeez, you two are. . .very different, yet very much the same - " He doesn't quite get to finish his sentence as his entire body jerks, then slumps down for a moment before he pulls himself back up.

Even though you're a decent distance away, you can feel a shift in the atmosphere - it's significantly less. . .heavy? Metallic? No matter what you call it, it feels strange now.

"Mm, I suppose you'll need a moment," Zandaka says with a softer voice. "You've been submersed for a while." She sighs and looks up at the sky, already feeling bored waiting.

Wow, she'd really be the only one to make that happen. Why not? Itami mutters, talking to no one.

Shiawase appears to be quietly whispering to herself.

Rin stumbles a little at the difference in the atmosphere. He glances to Shiawase in confusion, but focuses back on Hitari and Zandaka.

"Alright, you've had enough time," Zandaka says, tapping Hitari on the head. "Come on - up. We're going somewhere."

He doesn't move, and is clearly some form of dazed.

"Kanashimi, soon as you can would be good," Shiawase murmurs.

What are you doing? Itami hisses to her. Kanashimi? He's going to be gone for a while yet!

"Not if they have an open vessel," Shiawase whispers back. "That's about good as a gate as you can get. So, unless you would like to do it yourself, they're our best shot. I don't know what Zandaka really wants, but I don't think we want her to have it. . ."

I hate it when you make sense, Itami grumbles. Fine. Let's just wait and see.

"I agree with Shiawase entirely," Rin decides. "At least the part of that I understand."

Shiawase narrows her eyes. "What is that supposed to mean?"

Kanashimi is, you know. . . Itami replies, waving his hand. . . .not really one for effort.

Shiawase's face blushes a deep red. "Itami. . ."

Go ahead, tell me I'm wrong.

". . .this. . .isn't the time for arguing," Shiawase says weakly, becoming silent.

Yeah, it's waiting time. That's what you want, right? Itami grumbles. I've spent my entire existence waiting for this; waiting for that. This is fine.

"Come on," Zandaka snaps. "You're conscious, so you can move." Impatient, she grabs him by the shoulders once more, hoisting him to his feet, which makes you realize that she is very tall - taller than Hitari.

His limbs and neck remain limp, but he can clearly see who's in front of him. ". . .those two things have no connection," he says faintly. "I don't think I could move much, even if I wanted to - "

"Yeah, well, we can see about that."
