He squints at the figure as he look at where you pointed before giving you a slight nod. "Many thanks to you for telling me. I will remember this act of kindness."
He starts moving the kids towards the entrance. "Come along, let's go back home."
One of them pouts. "Aww, but-" their protest is interrupted by the sound of shattering glass as many throwing knives break through the window. Some hit their target. The attacker seems to be focused on the Archian as many more start heading towards the bakery.
(I kept forgetting to ask, but what's an Archian?)
"Well, that's not good," I murmur, cursing silently. I glance at the Archian. "Do you have any guesses as to who this person could be and why they're flinging daggers at you?"
I turn my gaze to the floor, trying to determine if I'd be able to get ahold of one of the knives, preferably without getting killed in the process.

Their jian swings barely a needle's width apart from your feathers as you run away from their weapon's reach. Their second swing cuts your right arm before you soar away however. You should get that treated before it gets infected.

Though you got off relatively easy today, they'll be more prepared the next time you come around. After some flying, outer Masina greets you with the sight of dirty old buildings. Not many people were around at this hour and it was getting dark.
There was a little hotel named 'The Golden Flower' nearby to your left and a group of people huddled together, talking among themselves a few meters ahead of you to your right. There were some small shops behind you that were currently closed at the moment and quiet homes behind where the people were.

The locked door of the room you were kept in was wooden with a metal frame. Looking at it closer, some parts of the frame was rickety and rusty. You could try to kick and push the door down, but you may risk making your presence known by anybody nearby. It is possible to get out, but how you do so is up to you.
You still have your sharp rock and the rope that bounded you. And intelligible voices whispering in your head for some reason. Actually, they sound somewhat familiar for some reason. Something tells you that if you were to close your eyes right about now, those voices will be able to show you something...Or you could just do that later.

.....voices? What's.... that about? I look around worriedly, but decide it's probably unlikely that I can break out without getting immediately caught. I close my eyes and listen to the voices......

Well, that means I'd better not come around for awhile. Or at all, but that's unlikely. Ouch, first thing I need to do is find bandages. I touch down as quietly as possible and, unable to resist, sneak a bit closer to see if I can eavesdrop a bit. I try to stay far enough away that they won't notice me, if that's too far to hear them, I miiiight risk getting a little bit closer.
(I would never slap a bird, roleplay gaming or not xP)

He kicks a pebble down the dusty sandstone stairs before descending them. "I can always avoid any cobras and vipers lurking around and hide myself under the sand if I spot any bandits. I can handle myself and I can do this by myself. With the camel I'm about to get."
(Wild animals aren't as big of a threat not as much as lack of food and water around for miles. Also, you're not an idiot >:/ )

It doesn't take long before you're on top of a tower that's connected to a small wall encircling the house. In front of you was a long mountain range that formed a part of the boundary between inner Masina and outer Masina. The plants on the mountains swayed in the winter winds.
"If you wish to go to the other towers, you only need to climb down the stairs and go out the second door. The end of your shift is at sundown. Well, that's all. I'll be taking my leave now," Cuifen says and exits the tower.

I decide to take a change of tack, realising how stubborn the delivery boy actually is. I can already see he's been planning this for too long to be talked out of it that easily. In any case, I promised to keep Omar from doing something foolish... which is something I can do if I'm the one watching his back out there.
"I can see you have to be pretty independent to take on a job to feed your own," I go on. "But that's a little different to braving the wilds without a friend for miles. You can handle a couple of reptiles here or there, bandits too, except everyone needs to sleep sometime. What then?"
He's determined to do it solo, but perhaps I can pursuade him that having me tagging along wouldn't be so bad. He's already got a camel - if I play my cards right and get that week's worth of food, I shouldn't be a liability.

(And I keep forgetting to tell you. An Archian is the 2nd highest position both politically and religiously in Pompodis and they each govern a section under the Ensol who is at the top of the hierarchy)

There are some knives around that had missed the Archian by a whole lot that you could take. All of the knives have strange symbols engraved onto the blade for some reason.
"I haven't a clue," he answers. He applies pressure to his wounds as he tells his panicked kids to go with the baker who was entering a back room with another customer.
You could barely see with your sharp avian eyes that the attacker was reaching for more knives. "I'd advise you to go with the others," the Archian says. He was putting his weight on the wall as he walked towards the room too.
