Maybe when this all gets sorted out, that question will answer itself. But hey, there. . .could be worse places to be in, Itami says, trying to maintain a lighter tone. Like the one that the other Hitari. . .came from. . .

He trails off for a few moments. . . .what if the situations you two are in are the same? He claimed to be some kind of cosmic traveler, but that would still be a random thing, no?

Hitari deliberately lifts a foot and drops it on a branch, pretending to freeze in shock as the loud snap's sound rings through the air.

Itami stiffens and leans forward, looking beyond you. Perhaps I should have said nothing - He frowns, an action you are unable to see as he's made of shadows, but you feel a shift in his mood. Something doesn't seem right with him. He's. . .different. A new different.

He gently pokes Shiawase in the side again. Now would be a lovely time to regain consciousness, Shiawase -

Rin laughs bitterly. "Ha. Right," He glances down at Shiawase. At Itami's thought that 'maybe things will eventually sort themselves out', he says, "I hope that's the case, Itami......"
Rin hears the snap, but not well enough to find the source. "Hm. Probably some critter in the branches." He seems to have forgotten that there are very few critters around in Dorei, much less ones large enough to snap a branch.

I hope so, but still, something nearby's changed, Itami says, lowering his voice a little. I wouldn't be too shocked if he's watching us somewhere. . .that Hitari's one of two things I could imagine that can change energies like that. Either way, it probably means some sort of bad news.

"Suspicion, that's going to be helpful," Hitari mutters sarcastically as he slowly tramps towards the house, avoiding other sticks. "Your plans are boring; it'd be much more exciting to just blaze in."

"I get that feeling," Rin mutters, standing up for no reason in particular. "I hate to say it, but it's about time something went wrong....."

I'd say, Itami grumbles, standing as well. He glances around and fixes his gaze in the direction of the forest. Oh, if it isn't our good friend.

"About time, you blind apparition," Hitari mutters. "Even though your sight's improving, you still can't see a stone's throw away." Raising a hand, he casually waves. "Funny seeing you here," he calls out loudly. "Never would've imagined it."

What is he doing? Loosening his hold will only jeopardize both their lives, Chaos says to themselves. His power would not be able to sustain across a spiritual barrier. The very moment he sleeps, my cipher will fade. . .

Rin whips around, fists clenched and looking quite afraid. "Great," He says through gritted teeth.

"You look displeased," Hitari says, tilting his head a little as he continues to approach. "Why is that, do you think? Nothing terrible has happened."

Okay, at this point, we don't have much options, Itami hisses to you. We can try running, fighting, or just staying here. I don't know about you, but I think the first two would be poor decisions.

Well, for starters, Shiawase, Itami says, speaking out to Hitari. I can only assume, especially considering you were in the forest, that you've done something?

"Oh, I would never!"

Fabulous, Itami mutters.

Rin swallows hard. "Yeah," He says weakly. "Staying here.... is probably our best chance."

I'm sure this'll only be pleasant, Itami says, not bothering to hide his tone of sarcasm.

Hitari, who is now only about ten feet away, chuckles. "Oh, I feel the same. Mostly because this'll be a smaller meeting then normal." He shrugs. "May or may not've booted Chaos. I guess you'll see."

Itami stares at him. If you have, that'd be detrimental for the both of you. Even if you're oh-so-powerful, nothing can take the place of Chaos's energy.

"I'm sure I'll manage. It's like a fun little exercise for us all," Hitari says. "What'll happen? Who knows! Even Chaos was curious as to what could be possible."
