You get the rock without making much noise. After a while, the rope is cut through and you are free from your bounds, but you soon hear faint footsteps coming over.
"...is really intimidating. Almost as scary as Malthia."
"Tell me about it."
"Do you think the plan will work?"
"Course it will. Those soghead council people won't know what hit them."
You reach the city limits that borders outer Masina, but a sentry blocks your way. Their face carries a heavy resemblance to the lady from earlier's features. They narrow their eyes at you briefly before returning to a neutral expression.
"Halt," they say. "I'll need to check you. Robberies have been happening around this area. I need to make sure you aren't a thief yourself."
I shrug and stop, though feeling slightly nervous for some reason. It's not like I've actually stolen anything, right? Just, ah, liberated some things that I didn't even have the intention of keeping.
I mean, Bob practically stole herself, if anything.

.....Well, that's ominous.
I freeze, trying not to make a sound. Guards? A couple of my captors? Whoever they are, they're definitely bad news if they hear me.
"Well, I've always liked the idea of going on an adventure and had been curious about the temples. It certainly sounds better than delivering things at least," he says and then stoops his shoulders. "Doing that is really boring and exhausting, but I had to do it so me and my dad can eat. Not anymore though."
"Not anymore?" I echo, curious as to how Omar's situation had so suddenly changed. Did he mean money was no longer a problem, or mouths to feed?
I cast my gaze to our surroundings. Where is it we seem to be walking?

They begin searching you when a messenger trickle tail bird arrives.
"Hold on, I'm not done with searching you," they say as they take the message. "Looks like it's one of Jiang's birds..." The little black and blue bird hops around and chirps at you cheerily.
The sentry's expression darkens after reading the message and they reach for their jian.

"I don't know, that council leader seems a bit smart. Do you think he'd catch on?"
"Nah, they're all way too preachy and blind to notice anything before it's too late."
"Yeah, you're right."
Their voices and footsteps fade away as they go past your room.

The sentry's expression darkens after reading the message and they reach for their jian.
I consider slapping the bird, but... it's a bird, and that wouldn't do anything anyways. I don't know how the guard knows it's me, but the wings are probably a dead giveaway, if I had to guess. Welp, the weather's never been better. I instantly whip around and try to run off, attempting to fly off again if I get far enough from his reach.

You seemed to be walking back towards the meeting place where you had met the delivery master. You're almost halfway there.
"Soon as I report back to Chike about the delivery, I'm going to head out and find those temples," he says happily. "I've been gathering some supplies, so I'm not as a lost cause as he thinks I am."

Well, that's just great.
Trying my best not to panic, I attempt to formulate some sort of a plan. How do I get out of here? Can I get out of here? Most importantly, what's my best chance of not dying?

(Making some assumptions here about what you face outside of cities, correct me if I'm being an idiot)
My patience is wearing thinner the closer we get to his employer.
"Some supplies?" I say incredulously. "Omar, do you actually understand how dangerous it is out there? Some supplies isn't going to protect you from... from wild animals, and bandits seeing an easy target. Don't tell me you're going on your own, are you?"
From how clumsy I've already seen he is, there's no way he's going to be able to watch his own back.
A plan is forming in my head that will mean I can make the most out of the situation, but I have to see how much of a plan Omar has first. And it's only going to work if he has either about 90 debens on hand, or I'm able to convince someone that they don't need a camel to find our temple.
