Firelight (Wildcat2057) and Auto (Autoaries) found each other in the woods, and they're heading to the cave Firelight woke up in (the cave is on the opposite side of the forest you're at - over some plains).

Which you might want to do, otherwise you might freeze to death.

Rin looks around. He remembers Hitori told him to get up in a tree for the night. He attempts to shimmy up the trunk but falls back on his rear- he's stocky and a poor climber. He sighs and mutters something under his breath. I know I shouldn't use magic unless it's an emergency.... but I'd say this is an emergency. His eyes glow orange and a pair of fiery wings appears behind him. He leaps up at a branch and manages to cling to the underside. Scrambling up to the top, he tries (unsuccessfully) to find a comfortable spot and falls asleep.

You manage to make it up a gnarled old tree about twelve feet tall - and in time, too.

Furious roaring erupts as a cougar bursts from behind the rock, charging in your direction. Standing on its hind legs, it scratches at the bark.

The tree is strong enough to withstand it. For now.

The cougar is very thin, and clearly very mad you've trespassed in its territory.

Firelight made it to the cave. 'Its a bit wet, but it'll have to do for now...' She turned into a wolf and ran inside.

Just in time, too. The wind's bite was beginning to become unbearable.

Cave sweet cave. Even as you two go deeper inside, you can still hear air whistling through. The walls are lightly slick with moisture.

She was bewild by it but also frightened she grabbed a long sharp stick and started poking at its eyes and face "move it!" she said to it still poking it

The cougar drops back to all fours, still growling. It paces around the tree, never taking its eyes off of you.

The fox pup moves inside your bag, popping its fluffy head outside. When it sees the cougar, it yips in fear and goes back in.
