Can I get some opinions on these theme designs?
*note: the traits are just examples. As themes they could have any trait.

Watermelon Bubblegum Aeridini

Cobalt Fire Aurleon

River Clam Sylvorpa
*For those of you who critiqued the River Clam Sylvorpa (that was actually my Cottonmouth Vulnyx) you might like to see the actual River Clam Vorpa. xD

Hmmm, I really like the Surfside Citrus Kelp and the Blue Iris Firefly Neph. I've been staring at them for a while and I still can't find anything I'd change about them.

I might would try to throw in some reddish pink on the Dawning Waterway Vorpa. When I think of dawn I think of some pale pinks, oranges, and yellows. I think your design captures the waterway portion quite well, but I think you could make it have a more dawn feel by adding a hint of pink.

@DaniBane

Watermelon Bubblegum Aeri- I'd try experimenting with darker colors and see what that can get you! Even if it's just a tad darker, I'd do that. I love how you matched the colors and the name makes me love it even more!

Cobalt Fire Aur- Gorgeous! I think it needs a flare though, Something that will shout out at a passerby Look at Me! I'm beautiful!

River Clam Vorp- I think your color sfit perfectly to your theme! My only suggestion would be to play around with the blue and see if changing it makes it look different/better. Maybe try something deeper?

@Penumbra

Once again, you have honestly shocked me with how amazing these designs are! I almost decided to not post about them just because I couldn't find anything I'd change! I still can't, I'm sorry but there's no way I can think to make them better, they are perfect as is!

@Stryker

A nice design! Are you going to attempt this as a project? If it's just a design then I'd suggest changing a couple traits to catch that "Misfortune' look, but If your doing it as a project I'd be perfectly content with it as is because Misfortunes are hard yo come by so I'd take what I can get.

More designs! These ones I think I'll be entering into the Summer 2020 themed designs. Also, I think the Ferrikki looks a bit too much like a theme I've seen somewhere, but I can't remember which one, so help on differentiating/finding said theme would be appreciated.

This first design i'm sorry to inform you, looks like something I would get as a dishwater pet. The colors all seem quite over the place. So lets take a look at making this into a good design. First off, lets look at the main body. It is very, very bright. Tone is down in saturation and pale it out. You can do a blue/brown design but you must make it more color coordinated. First I would take the main body color, swing it to baby blue and make the brown/gold tones more red. Red and Orange both compliment blue and using both creates a sort or trichromatic color scheme. I would also move any colors out of the gray zone, for a bright design avoid that. For your purpley g1 I would make it a deep blue color, this will contrast nicely with the a1. Making the mane g2 a nice lighter brown will help too. Your g3 isn't bad but I would suggest saturating it more. Your mutations should be more red-browns - this ties the whole design together better.

This next design, compared to your reference image is to saturated. Nothing in the photo above (except perhaps the background) is a bright color. Your design uses very florescent pinks, which the photo uses none of. Those pinks should be much more skin toned and paled back, perhaps with some orangey tones worked in as an off white cream yellow will work better. Your blues could be made darker to help with the contrast. I think having the wings a pale blue works but I suggest making the tail and beak a dark blue - remember to keep the eyes pale as they will work with glowy genes. I think your g1 could be slightly more satured to stand out from the body. I suggest making the wings a nice dark color, to contrast the pale. Remember having good balanced contrast is key to a design. Personally I would honestly make the g3 and a dark blue. With the m2 make it a more blue and there we go, new remmade design.

With your third design you made some better color choices but when we place some other traits they don't work as well. That blue, when alone, does look a bit to bright and I suggest just slightly toning it back - or darker. Now remember your c3 will show in the g1 so you want it to compliment, currently that bright orange looks to orange on most genes. I would look into making a blue closer to your original base. If you do this make the ec a much more saturated orange. With the g2 make it a dark blue almost black, this compliments and brings in that important contrast we are looking for. I think, though the g3 blue works well, you could bring in some orange here. That will make it pop against the blue body. The m2 is too yellow, this yellow-green ins't seen anywhere else - make it an orange-yellow or orange. Now here in your female I would take that orange and make it a pale blue or a dark blue - one of the other. Personally I went with pale.

I'll consider that for BF and SA, but U has an updated design and reference.

With this updated design you still have issues. It is much much to bright and busy, with too many bright blues going on. As with my first critiqued version make that body a nice baby blue, this allows other colors to build up well. With the mane make it once again a slightly more red-orange, which gives a better compliment between colors. With the g1 make it a grey blue, this isn't too bright but looks nice. I would make the mane a brown, brown will bend better with brown. With your mutations make them yellows, this will help.

If you want it super bright do something like this
