Shiawase suddenly perks up, feeling something different in the surroundings.

Well, no time like the present, Hitari thinks. Shia, I'm sorry, but this is for your own good. This way, less people will be hurt. He purposefully drops his foot on a leaf, then immediately dashes around in a wide arc to get behind Shiawase as she looks to the direction of the sound.

"I really do love you, you know," he murmurs. "So I'm sure you'll understand." Raising his hand, Hitari slams the side of his fist into the back of her hand before she can even turn back around. "One day."

Shiawase simply falls, like a building with its supports removed.

He leaves the cave, and Felix the owl looks down at him from a branch judgmentally. "What?!" Rin says to the owl, throwing his hands in the air. "What was I supposed to do? Sit in there with Itami until someone came back?" He sighs. ".....Who am I even talking to, anyways. You can't understand me." He looks around, scanning the forest for signs that any one way might be the right way to go.

Itami comes dredging after you, clearly unenthusiastic. Well, first things first, I suppose, he says. We need to figure where she went. Turning, he gives a quick glance at the cliff face. I think it's safe to assume she didn't go up, so into the forest somewhere is the only option.

Hitari winces on the inside. That felt. . .wrong. But it had to happen, he thinks as he gingerly picks up Shiawase. "Just going to put you somewhere safe, yet obvious," he mutters to himself. "But where. . .?"

A noise like the flapping of wings sounds overhead, and Hitari freezes. After a few still seconds, he slowly looks up and sighs in relief. "Whew. It's not the bird, just the leaves. My nerves. . ."

"I thought you said you weren't coming..... never mind, that's not important." Now if I were Shiawase, which way would I go? He examines the woods for a couple seconds longer, deciding on a path she might have taken and following it.

At least if this is the wrong direction, that probably means a lower chance of running into Hitari, Itami says, padding behind you. So it's a win-win no matter where we go.

"This'll have to do," Hitari mutters as he gently lays Shiawase between the roots of a tree. Taking her hands, he folds them as if she had simply fallen asleep. "Hopefully that deters them, should they come."

Rin wanders for awhile, searching the massive woods for any sign of Shiawase.

Everything is trees, far as the eye can see.

Maaaaaaybe we should at least choose an actual location to go to, Itami says. Otherwise we're just going to be in here forever, and that gets pretty boring.

Hitari straightens, forcing himself to turn away from Shiawase and continue walking. "Just going to get to the house, then we can figure out what to do," he says to himself. "And that's all."

"Rrrrright," Rin says slowly. "The only..... specific location.... I know around here is Hitari's house, but...." But it'd be really, really bad if Hitari had the same place in mind, and we ran into him alone.

But what? Itami asks. Chances are we'll find Shiawase there, too, seeing as it's apparently the only noteworthy thing around.

Hitari's mind idles about, lazily cycling from subject to subject. When nothing's happening, this is an awfully long walk. He sighs. But impatience does nothing for the situation.
