Somehow Rin thinks Hitari's disappearance isn't such a good thing. It feels..... ominous that he would leave like this, and would he seek revenge on them? It was evident he'd be back eventually, and Rin didn't think the encounter would be sunshine and rainbows.

". . .I'm going to find him." Shiawase turns to go outside, but Itami grabs her wrist. No, he says. No, you're not. He'll be found when he wants to be, and he clearly doesn't want that now.

"And if they start fighting while he's alone?" she challenges. "I'd rather be there to at least try helping him, not hanging back in this cave like a coward!"

Itami stares at her, mildly surprised. So you want to find the person with the ability to plainly tear an arm off.

"I want to find the person that I miss." Without waiting for a reply, Shiawase dashes out. Crap, Itami mutters. Well, she's going to die.

Hitari snaps himself awake. "No, you can't sleep," he says to himself. "That's. . .that's a bad idea."

Rin just..... watches. He looks at Itami in fear. And NOW I'm alone in a cave with Itami. Splendid. This day just gets better.

Well, what're you gonna do? Itami asks, turning around. He sounds tired, despite having just rested. Right now, you likely know Hitari the best out of all of us, so. . .

Shiawase slows down, now realizing that she has no clue on where to start looking. "If I were Hitari, where would I be?" she asks herself. "Probably somewhere familiar, but. . .I don't know if he explored or stayed in the same spot over time. . .perhaps I'll just start at that house." She comes to a walking pace and heads in what she believes is the right direction.

". . .can't sleep, so resting is a bad idea," Hitari mutters to himself, still leaning on the branch. "But if I can't rest, it'll be nearly impossible to recover energy without having to. . .take it, which I don't want to take as an option. That'll attract too much attention."

"W-wait, me?" Rin says in disbelief. "No, no no; I don't even know him that well at all. I've only known him for what, 2 days? Less than that, since he got his memory wiped!"

I can't even go in his house by myself, Itami says. And Shiawase. . .well, you know. Kanashimi hasn't come back yet, and Zandaka never showed up. He shrugs. And knowing his past doesn't really translate to when it's taken to the present. If it did, he. . .would be more confrontational, if memory serves right.

"I'll just siphon enough for me to get somewhere," Hitari mutters. Where he is touching the tree, the bark cracks and darkens, like an invisible flame is licking at its surface.

Shiawase glances up nervously as the treetops creak and groan, feeling the wind blow slightly stronger. "This is fine. They may be dried up, but they've taken this wind for years. Nothing will fall. . ."

"So what do we do?" Rin asks quietly. "More specifically, what do I do?"

Again, I ask, why would I know? Itami says, exasperated. All that can really happen is staying in here, or going outside. It's like a yes-no question. He glances to the door. But if I had to guess as to what's going on out there right now, I'd say Hitari is trying to stay hidden. He won't be on the ground, so there's really only one place he can be right now. The trees.

Hitari freezes, seeing motion on the ground below. Carefully and slowly, he moves to a crouching position so he can see easier. Well, that's. . .delightful, he thinks. I'm going to need to do something. I can't stay up here forever, I'll end up falling asleep. But the second I go down there, she'll notice. Sitting there, he ponders on what to do.

Shiawase squints, hoping she'll see the end of the trees. No dice. ". . .the forest didn't seem half this deep before. Perhaps it's because I'm in here purposefully now. . ." Sighing, she continues her walk.

Rin sighs. "I know..... it's confusing. Maybe I should find Shiawase....? I dunno."

I mean. . .if you think it's worth it. I'll go with you, if you do. I've got nothing better to do, Itami says. Otherwise we can just wait until one or both of them come back.

Hitari carefully shifts his weight, preparing himself to drop onto the ground. Just hop down, knock her out, then I can just go. Simple. Silently, he jumps from the tree, crouching as he lands. Perfect. Not even a leaf stepped upon.

Shiawase decides to take a break, leaning against a tree. "I'm certain he would have gone this way," she murmurs to herself. "More than certain."
