I know it's a long ways off but I keep thinking about the farming idea and crops being used as feed. I keep wanting to mention what another site does but I don't want to say the name or give away what it is so I'll try to be vague. It's a site that I always feed pets on though because you get some nice perks if you do. If a certain percentage of health goes down then you lose those perks. I think you can't battle or breed as well. But if the rest of the site needs to be updated first then it would be hard to add any such perks here now probably. I don't know if it's a good idea to basically copy the same format as another site either to maintain uniqueness. It is interesting though because you can acquire food yourself a couple ways or you can buy food from other players. I gather and build up a surplus so I don't have to worry about it for a long while and it keeps me stress free.

Btw, aside from farming, I keep wondering about maybe adding a fishing game that could also go towards food. There's that pond over in Ethernia I keep looking at thinking it'd be nice to do something with.

Farming and fishing are both things we want to add into the game and would be great ways to enhance the feeding system.

Making feeding a positive experience isn't all that hard really, once you've worked out the ratios. You could use some of the scripts you've already got programmed to save time, for that matter. A non-holiday wheel you get to spin for having well fed pets. Everybody loves those holiday wheels after all.

Or take the slot's game's bonus round for 3 staves, beef that up a little and make that something people get to do for well fed pets. If the ideas Sav mentioned were implemented you could potentially integrate food items from farming/fishing and maybe someday crafting into either concept. Or you could mix and match. Do *both* ideas and have one be the bigger reward you get for keeping well fed for x days in a row. This would also make logging in regularly more exciting to people.

Ps: The pet I offed for demonstration purposes never self-revived. I don't know if you intended that to be working yet or not, but it isn't.

I think once the crop or fishing or maybe harvesting/hunting for the game is introduced, that could be turned into a short small game itself and make feeding fun. Then if people didn't want to use that system, the stablehand or purchasing food comes into play.

There's really doesn't need to be a reward for feeding other than state boosts on your pets for being well fed. c:

It can get out of hand if you have too many pets, but I think the stablehand will fix that issue!

I'm all for the feeding being brought back, I think it worked well originally so improvements will make it much better! :D

To add to Zelly's wheel idea, what about having the wheel rotate out rewards perhaps on a seasonal basis so it stays fresh and also it'll make people want to be sure they don't miss any chances thus keeping pets always fed.

Also, I'm not sure if I'm staying quite on topic, but since it was brought up earlier talking about gold sinks. I was wondering if the person we can sell pets to eventually would buy a pet for either scales or gold. That way that definitely establishes a baseline gold price for pets. I'm not sure if that's already the plan or not. And again, I can't remember if this was brought up, but perhaps a limit on how many pets you can sell in one week or something so you don't have people continuously breeding just for selling at a base gold price.

Also, I'm thinking crafting will eventually be the best potential gold sink with a very rewarding satisfaction while doing it. Who doesn't like crafting pretty, shiny things? And to tie this somehow into feeding pets, what if you get some sort of item for keeping pets fed that can eventually be used in crafting. An item that's the physical manifestation of your pets' love for you that you can then proceed to use to make yourself something like the Cape of the Caregiver and so on.

Oh, and titles. There can be a title for keeping your pets fed as well.

Wow! You guys have been working very hard on this, haven't you? It looks very snazzy! Much different than normal and a bit overwhelming at first glance, but I love the new look! Excited to see it finished :)

Hello Krin and Fiona am liking parts of the new stable system just not the switch stable part would it be possible in the future to have two types of systems one that opens a inventory like box which displays all the stables like before for every day use and browsing other players stables and a second system focused more on editing and mass moving of pets?

Secondly am not sure if it is easy to fix but when you move stables to different positions the slider always returns to the top and you loose the stable you are trying to move up or down could it return focus to the stable you are moving? (love being able to shuffle them up according to current interests ^.^ )

Many thanks for all the hard work this site keeps getting more fun :)
