You go around and kill about 7 rats, and the quest tracker says that 2 boars and 3 fiend board have also been killed
8/10 rats
2/10 boars
3/5 fiend boars
Which earned you a total of 135 xp. Finishing this quest would definitely get you to level 3. In the distance, you see 2 more fiend rats, but in the other direction, you spot a level 2 fiend boar, which was much more rare, but would also be harder to kill.
As soon as you finished entering your name, you were transported into a courtyard outside of a castle, where players were going in and out of. Your quarterstaff was attached to your back, easy to take out if needed. To your left, you could see a meadow with some players fighting creatures in the distance as well as a fairly low grade looking, but still full of players and vendors, and to your right was the inside of the castle where many players were flocking towards.
I decided to head up to the castle, hoping to get a quest so I could earn some money and level up a bit. It felt a bit odd walking at first, because of the part of my mind still knew I was laying on my couch at home, and all this was taking place inside my head.

He went for the boar. Vecuase why not? It was a low level monster, plus it was a boar.
*I mean, I guess theres nothing stopping anyone- oh! Wait, you mean like a group party for teaming up and hunting things and not like a celebration... yeah, forget what I just said.* Swift coughed, embarrassed at her mistake
*Yeah, theres parties in the game* she corrected herself. *Im not sure how to open he menu with hand gestures, since thats a custom thing that youd have to set yourself, but just say Open Party Menu if you want to check it out* Swift explained, her own menu accidentally opening upon saying the words
"Oh. Cool. Open Party Menu," I say, to open the menu. I usually liked to explore all the features of the game first.

The inside of the castle was beautiful with high ceilings, but the pristine atmosphere was somewhat ruined by the swarm of players inside. The place was absolutely enormous, but it looked like only a few questgivers were open
1) young chef needs 5 rat meat and 1 boar meat and 10 Piquant Grass for a meal he is preparing
Rewards: 30 xp, 20 copper and 5 silver
2) An old man is trying to get a golden necklace back from a fiend rat that stole it, kill fiend rats until the necklace is found
Rewards: 10 silver, 15 copper, 50 xp
3) a young girl wants flowers to make a bouquet, bring 10 crystal flowers, 5 starpetal flowers, 5 morning bulbs, and 10 piquant grass.
Rewards: 100 xp 10 silver, 20 copper

You want for the boar, going up to it and stabbing it. It was a lot more work than anticipated, and it managed to deal some damage to you before you killed it, giving you 25 xp

You open up the party menu. It was a fairly simple layout that said [Party members: None] with a little instruction at the bottom showing how you could invite players by verbally saying *Invite player - to party* or type their username on the party menu where it said invite (which was right above a disband party button, but that was unusable at the moment due to your lack of a party)

I glance at Swift. "Want to party?" I ask her. "Or not. That also works."
I mentally facepalm.

As long as his health didnt drop below 50, hed happily keep fighting. That was usually his mehod-fight until you have a third of health left.
Then he went to go find more monsters.

*Well... maybe another time, I just want to keep players safe for now, and if we party, Ill gain some of your xp, and you wont get as much xp, and I want everyone to level up and become stronger* She explained apologetically.
*You can still add me to your friends list though* Swift offers.
