Because I've had some people ask or had a similar question, I will group ping this to everyone...
if you got mystery, can you add romance, horror or tragedy in??? YES YOU MAY.
Just because you spun it, doesn't mean you have to stick with it, throw in another species, genre or whatever, the only thing is, do NOT lose focus of your original choice or your main character, keep the actual 'essence' still there.
...example being, your character is a human, but suddenly they 'poof' and we are reading a Dhamphir's viewpoint...this would be a big no, UNLESS if the human actually undergone a transformation, but it must not be a completely different character overrunning the rest of the story
Not really good at writing romance, or a hostile personality XD so we'll see how this goes!
Middle Ages
Hale couldn't hear anything over the gasping of his breath. He was one of the Grigori, not some measly human. Yet still he ran from the raiders. The village he had been visiting just had to be attacked. Trees whipped past and birds flew out of large trees screeching angrily. His reddish brown hair was spiky with sweat, his brown eyes frantically searched for a hiding spot. Finally, he found one, a shallow ditch underneath the brush. An arrow flashed past him burrowing itself in a tree. Hale threw himself in, stifling a yelp of surprise as he noticed someone else hiding there. It was a human girl, who looked to be sixteen, with a bleeding leg. They both hardly dared to breath, but the raider simply glanced around and cursed before disappearing into the shadowy trees.
The girl winced as Hale pressed a cloth on her knife wound.
"You're lucky your leg was only grazed; else you would be completely crippled." Hale snapped. Her eyes flashed,
If you don't want to help me, then why don't you just leave. She challenged. Hale simply pressed his lips together and turned. That was a good question, why was he helping her? Its not like he could go back to heaven, no matter how many humans he helped. Stay here. Ill be back with more water. Hale muttered before stomping away. It had been a while since he had bothered to venture into a human village. Ever since his kind was cast out of heaven for loving humans, he had kept to himself. Making sure to stay far away from all the trouble. So why was he helping this girl? With an annoyed sigh, Hale scooped up some water and trudged back.
When he returned, the girl had pulled herself against a tree and was inspecting her wound.
"If you leave it alone, it will heal better." He said shortly. She blinked, and a wry smile touched her lips.
"You aren't a very personable person, are you?" She said dryly, "And my name is Kailey, in case you were wondering." Hale stared at her.
"No, I wasn't wondering. Are your parents back in that village?"
Kailey's smile faltered.
"My parents died when I was born. I stayed with my aunt and uncle, but, they passed away from sickness a few months ago." Hale winced and replied
"Uh, sorry. Well, I better go, I mean, Im going to check if the village is safe for you to go back to."
A smile began to grow on her face again, "You know for someone as angry and annoyed as you are, you care a lot about helping me. So are you going to tell me your name? Or will I have to call you Mr. Grumps a lot."
"Mr Grumps a lot?" Hale spluttered, "You can call me Hale. If you have to."
"Okay, Hale it is then. Too bad, I really wanted to call you Mr Grumps a lot." Kailey said cheerfully.
"I can't tell if you care usually this happy, or an infection is making you crazy" Hale muttered under his breath.
"Pardon?" Kailey asked
"Nothing. Ill be back soon. Don't move." Hale answered a bit louder.
When Hale got to the village, there was nothing left. The raiders had burned the village down, and all but ashes remained. No one here would have enough for their own families, nevertheless an extra mouth. Ill bring her to the next city, Hale decided, then she can find her way from there. With that figured out, Hale headed back to Kailey.
Kailey raised an eyebrow when she heard that plan.
"You're actually going to come with me? Of your own free will. Willingly?"
"Yes, that is what I said." Hale snapped, "Although I think Im already starting to regret it. Well leave as soon as that leg is good enough to walk on."
Kailey smiled for real, a smile that made her eyes twinkle.
"Well then, my goal will be to make you smile, even just once!" Then she wriggled back into the tree and closed her eyes to sleep. Hale simply did what he seemed to be doing a lot around her, he just stared at her in disbelief of her fearlessness.
Modern Time
Hale leaned against the bridge as he watched cars race by. It had been many years since Kailey, many ages since he had last seen her. Immortality was truly a blessing, until it was truly a curse. Like so many of his kind before, he had fallen for a human, and now he would never get her back. Like thousands of other humans, she had died of the black plague when it swept around. And even though Hale was Grigori, a type of almighty angel, there had been nothing he could do, but stay with her. So that is what he did. And while his animosity towards humans never truly faded, Hale did his best to guide the human race, as difficult as that was. After all, its what she would've wanted him to do.

So exited to have made it to the second round!
Genre: Mystery
Trait: Benign (what on earth does this mean?)
Time Period: Industrial revolution
Species: Human
I might want to spin some of these again, I just wanted to write them down so that I could keep track of them.
Edit: found out what benign means.
Story (sorry it's kind of short, I ran out of time to do the ending.)
"Amelia! Wait up!" Bonnie panted as she followed her friend through the dark streets of London.
"Come on! It's right up here." Amelia turned down an alley and stopped in front of a big black dumpster.
"This is the amazing thing you wanted to show me?" Bonnie said skeptically. "Look!" Amelia opened the lid of the dumpster. Bonnie gasped. The dumpster was full of food leftovers.
"It's a restaurant dumpster!" Bonnie exclaimed. Amelia was already grabbing handfuls of rice and corn out of the dumpster and stuffing her face. "So, was it worth coming for?" Amelia asked.
"I don't know, the extra food is great, but you know what will happen if Mr. Finch catches us outside the factory. I don't want to lose my best friend." Bonnie said. Amelia shrugged.
"We're orphans, no one cares about us. The only way our lives will get better is if we do something about it."
Bonnie's parents had died in a terrible factory accident when she was three and Amelia's single mother had died in childbirth; leaving them both to the mercies of Mr. Finch who ran the textile factory.
"Amelia!"
"Oh all right Bonnie, you don't have to come anymore."
"But It's you I'm worried about.!" Bonnie persisted.
"I'll be fine. No one notices orphans except Mr. Finch." Amelia replied.
" Let's just bring back some food to share with the others." Bonnie said. "Fine, but when I go I'm not bringing back food for anyone except maybe you." Amelia huffed as she stuffed food in the pockets of her apron.
"You said yourself that no one else cares about orphans. So if if we don't care about each other, than all of us really will be alone." Bonnie said. Amelia just hurried along the street back toward the textile factory.
"Dang that dye mixer! That's the third time this week! Tell Mr. Adriel to call the mechanic again!"
Bonnie winced. She and Amelia worked with the dye machine of the factory; cleaning it, dumping the powdery dye and water in to be mixed, and other things. This was the third time that the dye mixer had broken down in four days, and it was costing Mr. Finch a fortune to keep getting it fixed, which made him and his secretary, Mr. Adriel, very cranky.
"You lot are all dismissed for the day!" Mr. Finch yelled.
Bonnie carefully set down the sack of cyan dye she was carrying. As she stood up she heard Amelia scream.
"BONNIE LOOK OUT!!!!!!!" One of the huge metal pipes had broken off the ceiling and was swinging down strait towards her. Bonnie lunged to the side just in time to avoid being hit square on, but the pipe still grazed her left arm and slammed against the railing that Bonnie was leaning on and nearly threw her over the railing into the dye mixer's sharp blades. Bonnie screamed and clung tightly to the bent raining.
Mr. Finch cursed as Amelia and some other children ran to help Bonnie off the railing.
"EVERYONE OUT BEFORE SOMETHING ELSE BREAKS!!" Mr. Finch yelled.
"Do you see my point now Mr. Finch?" Bonnie heard Mr. Adriel say.
"Just call the mechanic Mr. Adriel." Mr. Finch growled.
Bonnie woke with a start to see Amelia's bed empty. Bonnie had ripped a piece off of her dress to make a makeshift bandage around her arm, and now it was throbbing painfully.
"Amelia?" Bonnie spotted a small scrap of paper with writing on it on the floor. Bonnie and Amelia had learned to read and write a little last year from one of the older boys who worked at the factory.
Bonnie picked up the paper. Amelia had written in her bad handwriting.
" NO TRUST MISSER A"
As Bonnie read the misshapen letters she was filled with dread.
"Amelia!" She called again, but she knew, without a doubt, Amelia was gone.
