Rose nodded and turned back towards the direction of 'home' the yellow stuff was more liquid today and dripped frequently onto the ground as she walked.

Frost followed, strangely quiet and tail lowered. Her fur was speckled with black soot, and her usually chatty cheerful self seemed to be blotted out by the previous events. But this is what she signed up for.

Tears mixed with yellow stuff and soot. Rose had seen a death. Her stupor had worn off, but the shock hadn't.

They arrived at Blood's house and Frost slowly knocked on the door.

Piper opened the door her face streaked with bits of cheese. She looked them both over and ushered for them to enter. The place smelled like enchiladas.

Frost couldn't help but smile at Piper. "You got a little something... on your face,"

Piper let out a sigh. "I know, blender's broken. Again."

Frost let out a half-hearted laugh. "Imma go wash up," she said, going downstairs to get a washcloth.

Piper turned towards sooty Rose. "What happened out there?" She asked tilting her head. Rose quietly filled her in. Piper shook her head and spun on her heel into the kitchen serving up enchiladas as Sunburst set the table.

Frost returned a while later. She had changed her clothes and washed her face, arms and tail but hadn't bothered washing entirely. She quickly checked the news (this station was still talking about the rescue mission) before sitting at the kitchen table.
