Oh, leave him be, Itami says. Just let the kid experience it all; take it in. It'll be fun once everything starts falling.
Meanwhile, Kanashimi/Hitari has begun shaking - not violently, but enough to be noticeable.
Oh my, Itami says, fake concern dripping from his voice. It would appear something's happening. My word. You might want to check on him, Shiawase. If you pay close enough attention you'll notice you can't feel anything.

Rin sighs. "I have to be. It's not like I have a choice."
Rin sighs. "I have to be. It's not like I have a choice."
Shiawase nods to you and glares at Itami as she crouches down to Kanashimi/Hitari, poking them on the back. ". . .how are you two doing?"
They flinch at her touch and peer over their shoulder - the blackness that was on the edge of their eyes has spread. Not much, but still enough to be worrisome. "Don't touch me.Go away - "
She withdraws, looking a little frightened. "So, not good. . ."
Itami snickers. Oh, fun. Don't you think so, Rin?

Rin is silent, but it sends chills up his spine to hear Itami call him that. He realizes Felix is sitting in an overhead branch of a nearby tree. How long has he been there? Rin didn't notice him leave.

(*dramatic kazoo sting*)
Maybe what Itami jokingly said about Felix being clairvoyant is true, at least a little bit. At any rate, it's pretty likely that Felix just feels safer having the high ground.
What do you mean, "not good"? Itami asks, sounding like he really doesn't care. Nothing sounds different to me.
"Well, you never saw his eyes," Shiawase says.
Itami sits forward, now intrigued. Their eyes. What of it? Not waiting for the answer, he walks over and peers down at Kanashimi/Hitari, who is still staring at Shiawase. . . .ah. Yep, you're right with "not good" - at least, not for them.
He shrugs and sits back down. Again, I say: Chaos isn't good for anyone.

Rin just watches them. If Itami thinks it's 'not good', then it's probably REALLY not good, He thinks.

Idiots, fools, all of you, Kanashimi/Hitari thinks to themselves. I have not met this world yet, but it will fall the same - Their eyes widen a little bit. - wait, who's. . .
"Can you at least be. . .I don't know, informative?" Shiawase asks Itami. "I. . .I don't know what's happening, or why, or - or - " She wipes her eyes. "This is all wrong."
I'm not some wizard, Itami mutters. I don't peek into timelines through a crystal ball. Only three - eh, four - people do things like that, and only one of them are here.
Shiawase perks her head up. "Who?"
I already told you. Chaos. A universal concept goes across all universes
