TL;DR Group of non-magical geniuses are tasked with saving their magical city/world from aliens.
(Also, pardon the extremely crappy title.)
The city of Ariowood was magical, of course. Anything less would have normal humans flocking the city, begging for magical cures. Since the city is magical, it chases away potential visitors with anything from mind-blending to outright hiding the city.
Those non-magical born in the city are slightly less lucky.
The High School of Ariowood was host to at least two thousand students. Most with magical abilities.
But some without.
Those with magical abilities all have unique abilities and all could potentially profit off of them. Most do. Most spend long nights not studying but building their empire, laughing at those who don't, laughing at those who spend their nights studying. Laughing at the non-magical ones, who can't.
So how do those without powers get back at those with?
How are they special?
Well, they're geniuses.
Some natural, some not so natural, all intelligent enough for some teachers to praise them in front of students that could care less and are close to failing. The geniuses, everyone thought, were good for nothing except schoolwork. They'd flunk in real job opportunities.
Then aliens invaded the high school.
No one could tell aliens apart from the students. The whole high school didn't even know that they were being invaded by aliens. All they knew was that random people disappeared and some of their friends acted funny. Nothing more.
But the geniuses knew something was up.
The four non-magical teachers saw that something major was up. They could tell the difference between alien-kind and humankind. Two of them were trying to spread the word: "Aliens are invading our campus! Aliens are invading our campus!" Then, the next day, they were gone. Vanished into thin air. Didn't come to the school to teach. The two remaining were afraid to speak up, afraid to be caught.
But all the geniuses knew that something had to be done or else the aliens were going to take control of the entire city, maybe even the world.

So welcome to "Magic won't Save The World" Signups! As usual, there'll be rules and the signup forms!
Rules first!
1. The standard rule of no OP characters/Mary Sues. This goes more towards those playing the aliens than those to the geniuses. Don't make your alien unbeatable. Don't make your genius a (somehow) omnipotent, knows everything being. The geniuses are in school!
2. There will be killing and death in this game; however, don't kill a player character you don't have permission to kill.
3. Integrate "Algebra" somewhere in your form. Don't just slap the word into other. Put it in personality with explanation or something (like This character hate algebra because...). (exception: You may put it in Likes/Dislikes without explanation.)
4. Don't hate the player.
5. Write more than a sentence per reply!
6. If you're an alien, don't pretend you can't be spotted by the geniuses.
7. Have fun!
8. Also, this shouldn't get too romantic. There can be some, just not a ton.
9. Max three characters and max of two NPCs under your control at anytime.
10. PM me before filling out the form if you want to play as the other genius teacher!

She is loyal to those she can trust, but has a hard time trusting. She is a firm believer in the saying, "Speak softly, and carry a big stick." She loves having her own space and privacy and absolutely hates it when people decide it is a good idea to pester her when she'd rather be left alone. She is a bit of a clean freak, keeping all her belongings always looking good as new. She can often let herself go to far with a lot of things.
-Backstory(More of a species bio)-
On her home planet, everyone is 68% crystal and their bodies need only water and light to function, no food. Her kind is worth a LOT in the markets. Since her species are more rock than people, they are seen as lesser than other species. There are only around 1000 of her crystal kind left. Her kind, called the Feltons, can make crystal out of thin air into any shape they desire. This species constructs their weapons of pure gemstone, which makes their weapons too heavy for many other species.
- Personality: He tends to be the "fun" teacher. He tries his best to make every lesson possible interesting, even though he's non-magical. He always has his classroom door open during his lunch (3rd, 10:00 to 11:00) and prep (7th, 14;00 to 15;00) periods to help those who need it. He'll reexplain concepts with no grudges. He hates those who don't try and will become frustrated if they keep not trying. He doesn't like sending people to the office which allows for more disaster to happen in his room before he sends one to the office. He has favorites (everyone does) but tries his best to be equal to all of his student, although if someone was sent to the office because of him he is less likely to forgive and forget.
- Backstory: Warren has always loved math, especially Algebra, since it was never hard for him. He never had to study in math, just English, which he kept wanting to throw out the window. He decided that, when he became older, he would teach math and spread the joy of math. But all he has now are frustrations at students who clearly don't study.

- Weaknesses: If he sent someone to the office, he doesn't usually forgive them. He gets frustrated easily, although kinda hides it well. He can't spell words and constantly relies on his trusty ol' dictionary to help him out. Due to his inability to spell, students make fun of him, getting him a little frustrated. He is a bit alienist.

Name:
Tiathe(Tia) Westbrooke

Female

Asexual
Personality:
At first she comes off as an uptight strict sorta person, no funny business. But if you take the time to actually get to know her, shes pretty nice to hang around. Although she does not mess around with school. Ever. Putting her grades in jeopardy is equivalent to putting her life in jeopardy.

Sour and spicy food
Downright rude people
Lazy people, so basically everyone she knows
People who put her grades in jeopardy

Math(to a certain degree)
Biology
Weaknesses:
English
Her pets, who she adores
Sweets. If there's sweets on the line she'll basically do anything
Type of Genius:
Biological genius. She did have to study for English though
Other:
Human Genius
Name: Theodore Michaels
- Age (14-18): 16
- Gender: Male
- Sexuality: Panromantic greysexual
- Personality: Theodore is often quiet and laid-back in a school setting, but when he's around friends, he can be quite goofy and loves to make people smile. He doesn't like being publicly teased about his inabilities, and is convinced that there's something special about him anyway - he just doesn't know what. He has two older siblings, Anita and Orion, who have magic, but he has long stopped trying to convince them that they're the same. Theodore is also a good person to come to with troubles - he's a good listener, advice giver, and is a bit sappy too. He does get easily flustered and has a habit of rubbing his neck, and has been known to knock things over often on accident.
- Backstory (Optional):
- Image/Description:
- Likes: Making people laugh, small animals, reading, learning new things (he could care less for algebra though), sweet food, art
- Dislikes: generally irritating people, people who talk too much or too loudly, heights, not having magic, being teased, being stuck inside for long periods of time
- Strengths: Often blurts random facts he thinks are helpful, retains information easily, friendly, could and would definitely make you amazing cookies when you're sad
- Weaknesses: Clumsy, can come across as annoying, not very strong, abso-friggin-loutely clueless, sticks his nose where it doesn't belong, not very confident or brave
-Type of Genius: He's great at most sciences and literature, but couldn't care less for math. History is fine, but not a favorite. He wish he could be more musical than he is, but picks up some strings once in a while, mostly because Orion has guitars and a uke, and a keyboard. Theodore is also good at culinary arts.
- Other:
Alien
-Name: Ricky Bonners
- Age (Don't care. As long as they can pass for a teenager.): 47, could easily pass as 16 or 17
- Gender: Female
- Sexuality: Bi
- Personality: She's very stoic and somewhat unfriendly, as she is untrusting and careful to keep her distance from people. Although, anyone who knows her knows she's just as helpful, funny, and relaxed as the next person. She's always loved all kinds of music and finds humans quite interesting.
- Backstory (Optional):
- Image/Description:
- Likes: music, being physically active, learning about human cultures and languages
- Dislikes: People being stupid or immature, animal/human cruelty
- Strengths: Math and statistics, like algebra, is no problem for her. She's good at not giving too much away, she's good at being sneaky, and her tall height serves well for intimidation, fast runner
- Weaknesses: If there's any kind of music, she'll stop to investigate. She doesn't like talking about things that are extremely personal, and she's a bit gullible while she explores human interests
- Other:
Human Genius
Name
Lorenzo (Larry) Zheng
- Age:
16
- Gender:
Male
- Sexuality:
Straight
- Personality:
Lorenzo enjoys being alone and quiet listening to others in the shadows. The way he draws into the shadows makes him often unreadable or causes him to seem like an arrogant fool who thinks he's better than others. However Lorenzo is quite sweet. He loves to crack jokes or be goofy to see others laugh, and his manners are spot on. However, if you do make him angry, be prepared for a long essay styled rant. He's quite into learning and loves teaching others, but never to the point that it seems like a show-off. This is as he is quite courteous with his manners and hates to hurt anyone.
However he does have darker side from being forgotten and bullied as a kid. When he was younger he would be the class clown to make himself feel better, but as he got older, he hated pleasing people. He felt angry toward himself and vowed never to change himself to please others, but the experiences of his childhood remains. Sometimes he draws into his brooding self where he turns quite moody and blames himself if he messes up as he has high expectations for himself. He always strives to do his best and loves to make competitions to see who is the best.
He's pretty good at science and math, and in order for him to do anything in Algebra he has to write or finger trace random numbers (sometimes that don't even deal with the question) so don't copy his work for Algebra.
- Image/Description:
Ignore how sacreligious the instrument is and switch the shirt with a t shirt and a jacket and you got a pretty good Lorenzo
also he does play the violin, but he's good at it but not like really good xD
- Likes:
eavesdropping, making people laugh, being alone
- Dislikes:
bullies, show-offs, people pleasers
- Strengths:
building, mimicking voices and sounds, has perfect pitch.
- Weaknesses:
Language Arts, chemistry (the one science he hates), Anything athletic
-Type of Genius
He's natural at building (like science team and robotic stuff) and music. He has to study to get a good grade in math and science (except chemistry).
Gender: His species is genderless, but he presents as male
Sexuality: Demiromantic Asexual
Personality:
A no-nonsense kind of guy, Scias is usually calm and level-headed until he gets tunnel vision from an idea stuck in his head.
He has taken somewhat of an oath to block out all emotion detrimental to his missions.
However, despite everything, he has been shown to slip up in his professionalism from time to time, occasionally reverting to his normal, socially awkward, cheeky, and overly excitable self around those he get him to drop his walls and gain his trust.
Scias has a dry sense of humor and a biting sarcasm laced in most of his words, carefully picked and crammed full of bitterness. He is very analytical and an extreme perfectionist, despite coming off as a scatterbrained, reckless, and uncaring idiot to those he works alongside. He dislikes interaction with most people and usually makes creative excuses to avoid them altogether.
Backstory: A young Daarizian Executioner from Proxima-117, he was sent to Earth for observation of humanity and elimination of those determined to pose a threat to him and his species. He doesn't seem to care for humans one way or the other, but he is wary of other aliens or humans alike who may have more malicious intentions.
Image/Description:
(because I'm too lazy to make him a human form, not my art)
Likes: Birds, reptiles, sleeping in class, anime (he's definitely a weeb), robots
Dislikes: Being bored, school, people in general, public speaking, wasting his time
Strengths: Thanks to the naturally conductive composition of his plasma-like insides, he is able to generate strong pulses of electric current to attack and defend himself at will. He also has a considerable understanding of technology, both human and the highly advanced gadgets his species employs.
Scias is highly impervious to damage thanks to his metallic skin and high-temperature plasma insides, able to regenerate any damage to his body over time as long as his electric-producing core is left intact and he has a proper means of obtaining food, rocks, or nearby metallic substances.
He can also hear high frequency noises and faint sounds out of the range of normal human hearing, making him an excellent fly-on-the-wall.
While schoolwork naturally comes easy to him, he does especially well in science and tech classes, the two classes he actually has any interest in.
Weaknesses:
Scias tends to have a very short attention span and is known to be reckless and hot-headed if he is provoked or feels his life is in absolute danger.
He has poor day vision thanks to darkness adapted eyes. Sunlight forces him to wear sunglasses often to protect his light sensitive eyes, lest he blind himself with Earth's sun.
While normally highly resistant to any sort of damage not directed at the electric-producing red core in his chest, his body is incredibly weak to water and will begin to disintergrate on contact with water or extremely strong external forces of radiation or electric.
He doesn't know how to do math very well, algebra included.
Other:
Species sheet.
While his species normally possesses shapeshifting abilities, Scias has mostly lost his for unknown reasons, only able to reform his sharp twin tails and claws at most. He will do so with no hesitation if it comes down to protecting his life if any dare accuse him of being involved with the abductions.
He doesn't seem to care that others in the school recognize him for what he is due to his unusual white-ringed eyes, taking it in stride to get others to keep far away from him and for intimidation factor.
-Name: Laim and Lucas (Two names for his two personalities)
- Age: 117
- Gender: Male
- Sexuality: Pan
- Personality:
Has a split personality:
Very friendly with people. Very innocent even though he is supposed to be the bad guy. Does not like to hurt people and is scared of almost everything. Cinnamon roll. Acts like everyone else but does not show any hints of being evil.
The other side of him that gets out whenever pressured to do something. He becomes aggressive and gets agitated easily. Will not hesitate to kill anyone standing in his way. Most people think they are two separate people.
- Backstory: Was sent by his home world to capture aliens. Most look down on him when his friendly personality comes out but he gets the job done. His parents looked down on him for being friendly as all of his species hate humans.
- Image/Description:
Human form:
(When he is in his aggressive personality his eyes are yellow)
Alien Form:
- Likes:
-Mangoes-
-Family-
-Hugs-
-Talking-
-Making friends-
-Fighting-
-Getting revenge-
-Bullying-
- Dislikes:
-His other personality-
-Fighting-
-Hurting people-
-Showing his demon form-
-His soft personality-
-Being wrong-
-Getting caught-
-Losing-
-Algebra-
- Strengths:
-Getting people to trust him-
-Not getting caught-
-Being friendly-
-Fighting-
-Turning into his alien form-
-Capturing people-
- Weaknesses:
-To trusting-
-Can't control his harmful emotions-
-Can't turn back into his alien form-
-Anger issues-
-Hot headed-
-Reckless-
-Full of himself-
-Other: Moo? In his alien form he can teleport (If that's okay with you)
(Hope this is all good, might change this into to different characters. Please tell me if you don't like anything. Also I was hoping to be the bad guy in this roleplay...)
Personality:
Darthia is independent, and enjoys having time to herself. She doesn't really mind change, and tries her best to adapt to her surroundings. She is alright under pressure, but is terrible at making snap decisions, preferring to plan things out ahead of time. Taking music away from Darthia is like not watering a plant for weeks - eventually, she'll break.
Backstory (Optional):
Her father died of an illness when she was 1, but other than that, she's had a normal life. At least, it was a normal life until the aliens came.
Image/Description:
Just replace the cat with a bird :P
Likes:
-Birds
-Instrumental music (baroque, romantic, & classical)
-Being alone
Dislikes:
-Pop music
-Snakes
-People pestering her and/or being nosy
Strengths:
-Music, algebra, and biology
-Isn't very gullible
-Has a very good memory
Weaknesses:
-History, athletics, math that isn't algebra
-Can be too independent at times
-Scared of snakes
Type of Genius:
Darthia is natural at music and biology (mostly because she can memorize stuff easily). She's alright at algebra as well. She knows how to play the violin, piano, flute, harp, and guitar. She could probably learn more if she wanted. She also has perfect pitch. She can name most species and their scientific names by memory. She has to study to get a good grade in history, math (but not algebra), and athletic things.
Other:
She has a pet bird, Snowdrift:
