The world is a bit more resilient than people give it credit for- sure, a few creatures might go extinct but as long as we don't have a second, bigger asteroid I'm sure life will go on somehow, even if only a tiny speck of bacteria survives.
Anyways, I hope we don't all die.

It's not THAT resillent.
I mean, we literaly are destroying the Arctic right now and if yu haven't noticed it's getter way too hot for my liking.
And I come from the desert/my family originally came from a hot country.
So um..

I'm just saying, when we go extinct hopefully in the next century or two, the Earth takes only a couple hundred thousand to a million years to become liveable again, otherwise we're boned.

This contains an unpopular oppinion. Please be warned.
I hate to be 'that' person, but I'm pretty sure global warming is nothing to worry about. The change caused by humans is minimal (Our fuel burning only accounts for 5% of all CO2 emmisions; the rest is from the natural processes of decoposition, breathing, digestion, etc.), the warming is part of the planet's natural cycle, and if anything, the planet's been cooling in recent years. The penguins and polar bears will still have a place to live. Here are a few sources if you're interested.
But to get this thread back on topic, I agree that the Amazon fires are a very bad thing. Considering the unique biodiversety of the area, many animals are likely being displaced. Though forest fires can often be beneficial to a rainforest (It destorys old trees, making way for new ones to grow, and enriches the soil), these fires are on a much larger scale than whats normal. Hopefully the worst of flame can be put out soon. If it puts anyone's mind at ease, we won't all soffacate should the worst happen to the Amazon. Most of our oxygen comes from algae.
