Hey all! I'm trying to build my library back up, and I need some recommendations. I prefer fantasy or fictional books, young adult or adult, but I've enjoyed some historical and non-fiction books as well. I'd love to hear your suggestions!

(aint good at summarizing things but here's some books I enjoyed- maybe google them yourself for better summaries I'll just be saying what I like or think is interesting about them)
Inkheart -Trilogy(3 books)
-The world of Inkheart allows storybook characters to come to life, but only with equal exchange can this happen. When a character comes out of their world into ours, someone in our world gets sent in their place.
Deathgate Cycle -7 book series
-The earth has long been destroyed, in it's place 4 new worlds are created after the different elements. A war between super human, god like people: the sartyn and the patryn. Dwarves, elves, and other species that hid themselves when the world was still named Earth now freely roam their homes in the open. The Patryn and Sartyn fight to rule these peoples as their gods, using magic respectively either through runes or singing and dancing.
Follows different POV's from all sides and different personalities.
Ender's Game-? Series(sci-fi fantasy)
Children are taught from a young age through simulations how to fight a war that will soon befall their planet so that they will be ready when the aliens arrive.
Wonder(not fantasy)
POV of a child who was born looking different just living a normal(non-fantasy) life and growing up
Shadow Thief -4 book series
Greek mythology, been a bit since I read this one but remember enjoying it
Good series if you like Percy Jackson
Holes(not fantasy)
(didn't know how to summarize this one so I googled a summary)
"A boy is wrongfully convicted of stealing an orphanage donation and must choose between going to jail or Camp Green Lake. He decides to go the camp, which turns out to be a brutal place where he is forced to dig holes in the desert all day on the orders of the mysterious warden, who is actually using the prisoners' hard labour to look for buried treasure."
Music from movie adaptation
(movie is great too, did the story justice in a way a lot of movies don't)

You want books? I got books.
Arc of a Scythe (Neal Shusterman) - This is a futuristic sci-fi series. I personally really enjoy the first book so far, but haven't yet finished it. Personally, I find the concept around this extremely interesting. The two books currently out are Scythe and Thunderhead.
"A world with no hunger
No disease
No war
No Misery
Humanity has conquered all those things, and has even conquered death. Now scythes are the only ones who can end lifeand they are commanded to do so, in order to keep the size of the population under control.
Citra and Rowan are chosen to apprentice to a scythea role that neither wants. These teens must master the "art" of taking life, knowing that the consequence of failure could mean losing their own."
--------------------------
The Age of Fire (E. E. Knight) - Ah yes, the more realistic version of Wings of Fire. There are six books, each telling different sides of overlapping talesat least to my knowledge. The first one is Dragon Champion, followed by Dragon Avenger, Dragon Outcast, Dragon Strike, Dragon Rule, and lastly Dragon Fate. Still currently reading the first book, but it's written extremely well and I have high expectations for Dragon Avenger.
"High in the mountains, deep in the safety of a cave, a brood of dragons is born. The four young ones are the last of a dying breedthe last hope for dragons' survival. But hope shatters when murderous slave-trading dwarves break into the cave, leaving death and destruction in their wake...
Only young Auron, a rare scaleless gray dragon, manages to escape. Armed with nothing but his claws and a boundless determination to survive, he sets off in search of his kind. But to locate other dragonsor, at least, discover who's killing them offAuron will have to search a world of mercenary elves, vicious humans, and dangers of all kinds. On the trek of a lifetime, Auron will win allies in the strangest placesand find himself along the way."
--------------------------
And those are the books I would currently recommend. Just a brief addition, if you haven't read Watership Down (Richard Adams), then I would entirely suggest it. It follows the perspective of Hazel, a rabbit who banded a group to leave the warren after his brother Fiver had frantic visions that warned the end of the warren's safety. The part I like most about it is definitely all of the lore of El-ahrairah, it's just so extremely well told.

Wow, you guys are great! I didn't expect such good in-depth reviews and recommendations, but y'all really came through. :)
Echosing, we must have the same tastes. I've read all of those books except for the Deathgate Cycle, which I am going to immediately get. It sounds right up my alley.
edit: I just looked it up! I didn't know it was by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman! I love them. Can't believe I missed it.
Orca2whale, Island of the Blue Dolphins tore my heart out when I first read it. I love that book though. I've read most of Rick Riordan's books, but I haven't kept up with the latest ones. I'm not sure where to start anymore. :)
Ithyr, Age of Fire sounds interesting for sure. I've never read a book with the dragon as a protagonist (except for The Enchanted Forest Chronicles, which I love, but are probably way different), and I'm always interested in stories where the usual heroes and villains are flipped around.
Thanks for the recommendations, you guys! I used to be in a book club but with work and everything we ended up having to disband it. I've been using Goodreads for recommendations, and it's great, but sometimes it feels like I'm reading the same thing over and over because it's tailored so specifically. If that makes any sense. :)

I'll start there! Thanks! :) I know I was the one that asked for recommendations, but if you like Rick Riordan, you should check out the Bartimaeus Trilogy by Jonathan Stroud. They're a constant on my list of favorite books.
