Welcome to Lavelle's Spring Festival Giveaway!

I've been diligently working to keep myself on one of each of the species leaderboards this spring fest and I couldn't have done it without the people of Region Chat, Gen Chat and the Skype Chat keeping me sane! I absolutely love online gaming and I have loved being able to apply myself to this fest, I can't wait to see how I fare in the final standings but whatever happens I know I'll have had a great time!

The reason Sylestia is so great is the community - there's always someone online to talk to even when you're up nurturing at 4am because you can't sleep and you're cramming study notes from a postcard on your desk.

I've decided to give back to the community and I've worked very hard on this prize pool and I'm very excited about this giveaway, I hope this thread can also be a way for us all to get to know a little about each other!

Details:

This giveaway will run from time of posting until 11:59pm Sylestia time on Sunday the 17th of May 2015.

I would encourage everyone to take part! Newbies, oldbies, admins, friends, people who want to hit me because theyve been nurturing against me for the past week, youre all invited because youre all part of what makes this site so awesome.

Oddly enough, the trials and tribulations of the maze. Finding nests, fighting that serpent boss, failing to get 15 eggs. xD

Running right into a Tiger Lily Aeridini the moment the fest opened, and running away from it.

What has been your favourite thing about this festival so far?
The Sylesti garden! I love planting and harvesting in games, so I was very excited to see it come to Sylestia! Fai and Krin did an awesome job with it!

What has been your biggest *facepalm* moment of this festival so far?
My biggest facepalm of the fest so far would have to be the time I misread a comment in chat. Someone typed in fert and I misread it as fart. Was definitely tired then. ;P

If you were a Sylesti, what species would you be and why:
If I were a Sylesti I would definitely be a Ryori. They are my favourite and remind me of flying ethereal kitties. When I was a child I had a book about flying cats with wings. It was one of my favourites.

The friendly competition between users for the leaderboards! Very fun to watch people go at it and lose days worth of sleep

Accidentally selling a pet meant to be put up for breeding that ended up being released.

If you were a Sylesti, what species would you be and why:
Either a Zolnixi or Lupora because my favorite animal is a wolf and Lupora are (so I assume) based off of them and Zolnixi's are just so fluffy and cute who wouldn't want to be fluffy and cute?!

What has been your favourite thing about this festival so far?
The leaderboards contest are pretty fun, a tad bit stressfull, but I like that my nurturing addiction is helpfull :P
And I love seeing what my harvested pets look like for the first time <3

What has been your biggest *facepalm* moment of this festival so far?
Sleeping - nah just kidding - uhhh I'm not sure there really is a facepalm moment on my part. Yes I've accidentally killed themes that I tried to catch, but thankfully none of them were fabled species and all of them were rare.

Three random facts about yourself:
1. I never had cable TV growing up, so my favorite show, hands down, on TV was the Nature and Wildlife program that came on at 6 PM on Sundays on PBS. I still remember the one featuring the wolf packs and this black loner male the wildlife workers nicknamed Romeo (and his rendezvous with the packs alphas daughter, Cassandra). I kind of miss that program, nothing quite like it on National Geographic these days.
2. Im striving to be a writer of fiction, but it seems my talents lie elsewhere. I can write endings, and occasionally beginnings, but I cant seem to figure out all the in-betweens.
3. I use the British English and American English spellings of words interchangeably without noticing; Ive often had peer reviewers for school or even my English teacher tell me that I need to pick one use of grey or gray or color or colour and stick to it.

What has been your favourite thing about this festival so far?
My favorite thing about this festival has definitely been getting to meet and talk to so many awesome players in the region chat. General chat seems to move slowly at best, and I didnt feel very included when I peeked into gen chat the few times I did as a new user before the festival. I love the spirit of friendly(?) competition and caring and sharing Ive seen throughout this fest thus far. I also love all the awesome new pets we got to see!

What has been your biggest *facepalm* moment of this festival so far?
My biggest facepalm moment was probably that one time earlier today when I realized that if I hadnt spent so much money on maze tickets, I probably could have bid on (and won) all the fabled 3-vis plant sylestis I wanted, haha. Thats what I get for not thinking things through xD

If you were a Sylesti, what species would you be and why:
As much as Id like to say something cool like a lupora, Im definitely not an awesome wolf-like creature. Im more like that creepy kelpari who follows you around doing jazz hands. I take pride in being the creepy kelpari in the corner of peoples vision doing jazz hands, though! Some people find me cute, some people find me creepy. Some people find me just weird, and thats totally okay. Id rather be the creepy jazz hands kelpari with a few good friends than the lone wolf lupora, admired by many, but understood by none. <3

Not only did she successfully(?) revive the Sylestian Mafia guild, shes working to make sure its accessible and a helpful presence in the community as well. From what Ive seen, she doesnt turn people away for no reason, is a kind person who is always willing to help or answer questions or take suggestions for improvement. So yeah, keep being cool! :D

Yeah, I'm probably jumping on the bandwagon with both of these choices, but I don't care; they are my favourites.

What has been your favourite thing about this festival so far? The avatar items. I normally pay very little attention to Festival avatar items, but so many of these are cool, I've been actively going after them.

What has been your biggest *facepalm* moment of this festival so far? I just about bankrupted myself, in both gold and Diamonds, to get tickets for the Majestic Maze...and not once did I get beyond the second door, regardless of which path I took. What was I thinking! The "Broken Dreams" slang for the Wheels (which this Maze replaced) exists for a very good reason. I shouldn't have expected the Maze to be any different, so this is really more of a "forehead smack" than a "facepalm."

If you were a Sylesti, what species would you be and why: Zolnixi, because I'm smart, loyal (sometimes to excess), and empathic, and my curiosity sometimes gets me into situations that take some effort to get out of.
