Holiday Cooking

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! In the spirit of Thanksgiving where you find yourself eating until you explode, the object of this game is to cook up something Sylestia inspired!

Rules

1. Your entry MUST be edible and must be real food. This is meant to be a cooking game. Besides the requirement of your entry having to be real food, we will be very lenient with what you submit as we understand that everyone has very different cooking skills and very different access to ingredients/cooking appliances. Your entry DOES NOT have to be cooked, it can be something that's eaten raw, like a fruit or vegetable.

2. Your entry MUST be Sylestia themed in some fashion. However, as with Rule 1, we will be very lenient. Just try your best to be creative. Examples of acceptable ideas: carving an apple into an Eggling, decorating a pie or dessert with a Sylestia design, baking Sylestia themed cookies, or even creating a full meal with just fun Sylestia inspired flair - like something that the elves of Saerielle would eat.

3. You do not have to create your entry entirely on your own, but you MUST be doing the majority of the work. Please DO NOT just have someone else make it for you and then take the credit. That is not in the spirit of the game. We want you to show off YOUR creativity and, most importantly, to have fun with it.

4. Please make sure to take AT LEAST 4 process pictures with your Username and Date in each picture.

5. Please check the Black Friday Extravaganza Overview Thread for the listed End Time for Forum Games. Any entries posted after this time will not qualify.

Aurleon are vicious birbs that can peck the eyes out of hunters if they can detect that they are under attack so aurleon are typically very expensive to eat and only the "upper class" ie royal family eat aurleon. This lucky hunter was able to spot a youngling that had been released during fest time and thus we have

Roast Aurleon with sweet potatoes and pineapple rice stuffing

Grabbed 3 sweet potato. I ended up using 5 though xD

Chopped up Sweet potato into equal lengths so my aurl can rest on them

Rice is washed until the water is no longer cloudy. Rice was a little old so it took ALOT of washing. Its then cooked until al dente

Onion Chopped ready

Cut up my pineapple

Put the stuffing together. Its rice, pineapple, onion, mixed herbs and salt

A bit grisly but Aurl needed its head chopped off. Ty El for the assistance xD That one is a link cause im not sure if it might trigger people

Rice Stuffing into the birb and sitting the birb on the sweet potatoes

What i didnt get a pic of was the finished product. The skin was delicious and hubs said it was the best "animal skin" he has even eaten

All together on a plate

It was amazing and the day after (like 20 mins ago) it was great too xD

Pollinator Treat Flower Fruit Plate
A recipe for a treat to share with your favorite Lunemara or Aeridini!

Ingredients (for one small plate)
- 1 apple
- 1 clementine or other small citrus fruit (Yes, there are several in the picture. I didn't know how much I would need)
- A bunch or handful of grapes (I used 10 large grapes)
- 1 raspberry (optional)

Cut the apple into thin slices and discard the core; cut the grapes in half.

Arrange apple slices in a circle, overlapping like the petals of a rose (illustrated below)
Leave space in the center for some of the remaining fruit.

Add grape halves along the outer and inner edges.

Peel the clementine and remove the membrane surrounding each segment, leaving at least some of the tiny sections within intact. (Don't worry if it gets a little messy - both Lunemaras and Aeridinies tend to enjoy juice!)
Add the tiny sections to the middle of the plate; this will form the center of the "flower."

If adding raspberry, break up the berry into small natural sections, similarly to the clementine segments, and sprinkle them atop the clementine.

A fruit "flower" perfect for you and your pet!

I was going to make cookies, but my oven decided it had had enough of ovening (fair enough, it must have been about 40 years old) so I had to improvise my lunch into something decorative. It probably turned out better than the cookies would have (my decoration skills peaked in year 1.)

An Aurelon finds a nice lush patch of greenery to lay her speckled egg in.

She lines the nest with her feathers.

Aurelon tail

Aurleon wings, head and body.

More detail on the feathers, as well as the newly hatched little chick and a sun in the (oddly-coloured) sky. I wish I'd decided to do it yesterday when I still had some purple cabbage and beetroot left, but oh well, a two-toned Aurleon's still pretty.

A Lunemara made entirely out of fruit!

A messy process but turned out alright at the end and was lots of fun!
I used watermelon, kiwi, blackcurrant, apple, cherry, honeydew melon, and nectarines.
Well worth the effort making it!

Realised as I was uploading the images that Sylestia does month/day and I wrote day/month on my piece of paper. Hopefully that's ok.
