Hello! Terra here. I have been trying to decide between several Pokemon games, and I figure there's got to be people here who've played Sword and Shield. I'm trying to decide between those two, and Let's Go Eevee. Why those three? Well those were the only ones available at my nearest Wal-Mart, and I don't get to ferry over to the next town very often. Figured I don't want to go in blind, so I should ask some Pokemon player what they think.

I guess it depends on what you want in the game.

Let's Go Eevee (and its counterpart Let's Go Pikachu) is a remake of the original first generation games (Pokemon Yellow specifically). The the only pokemon available to catch are the original 151. They also changed the catching mechanics in Let's Go Eevee. It uses PokemonGo mechanics so you no longer have to fight wild pokemon and weaken them before throwing a pokeball. You just.... throw the ball with the joycon. The game is very cute and is meant for a younger audience who is not familiar with the original games or story.

Sword and Shield are the newest in the main line of the games. You don't have to have played the others to understand what's going on so don't worry. They have a lot more of... everything really than Let's Go Eevee does. More Pokemon, more things to do, etc. That said, there was a lot of controversy about these games before and after they came out for various reasons that I won't go into here. They're not the best representation of the Pokemon franchise as a whole but they have all the core mechanics so if what you want is to play a normal pokemon game then Sword and Shield will scratch that itch. You'll get a lot more gameplay out of Sword and Shield than you probably will out of Let's Go Eevee.

Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee are remakes of Pokemon Yellow. The Original 151 can be caught (153 if you include Meltan and Melmetal). It's like a Pokemon GO 2.0 (in my opinion). Instead of battling Wild Pokemon, you just catch them (if the ball is strong enough). Pokemon from Pokemon GO can be transferred straight from there to the Let's Go Games (more recently, Pokemon Home is available). It's intended for the younger audience.

Sword and Shield is the newest Generation, Generation 8 (Galar). 80 Pokemon have been introduced in the region (88 with the expansion pass). There are a total of 400 Pokemon in Sword and Shield. There is alot more conflict and it's NOT a remake. In my opinion, it's not the best game because it's literately a UK copy. There's a new thing added in Galar, G-Max. G-Max is basically when you grow the Pokemon, and using more powerful moves with effects. Each Pokemon has an exclusive G-Max move. Dynamax is when the Pokemon just gets larger, but a weaker version of G-Max. Any pokemon can Dynamax, but only few can G-Max.

So which is better? The Let's Go games were made for little kids, and Sword and Shield were made for kids. Sword and Shield is much cooler, and there's more Pokemon to catch (my opinion). If you want a larger variety of Pokemon, Pick Sword and Shield. if you want a cuter version of Pokemon, pick the Let's Go games.
