how do you get exp orbs? other than the broker though

it's a low drop loot you can get from defeating any ennemy, the level of the orb is the level of the ennemy you fought. It may be false but i think the drop rate is a bit higher in the LG. ^-^

do you happen to know how often the cities get attacked?

There are rades every 3 hours (12am, 3am, 6am, 9am, 12pm, 3pm, 6pm, 9pm) there are some areas that are constantly open for you to battle in. (Fugus grove, bandit camp, ect.)
