So i was trying to make my avatar a cat and i was about to put on the misfortune kitty tail and it said re colorable and im wondering what it means?

Recolor means you can make the item whatever color(s) you want. Their icons in the wardrobe are usually all gray, but when equipped to your avatar, they will pull from whatever colors you've put in the corresponding slots. For each recolor item, there is usually also a set of items with pre-defined color schemes.
