I'm in the garden of magnates and I'm having trouble with the army of undead, I stay above 80% of health the whole time without items until the very end when there are 3 arch mages in a line. I always die there even if I use a couple of revival draughts. I only have 2 pets in my party, plant type in front and fire type 2nd. What am I doing wrong? I've tried to get past them numerous times.

The best way to beat the waves is to focus your attacks on only one of their party slot, by keeping the two others as week ennemy, this will lower the amount of damage your pets receave each turn; 1 mage and 2 low class soldiers are alot more manageable then doing the three at the same time. Because of it, avoid using fire atuned pets for this fight as they are multi-targetting and you could end up accidentaly make a dent at the wrong place and end up with multiple mages again.

Also, i wasn't able to see your party but this guide should help to confirm that they have / help to give them the right equipement for each elements. There is a very long list of gears avalable and it's easy to get confuse with the early games ones as they are not as 'in your face' when it come to witch element they work the best with.

By Garden of the Magnates, you are expected to have unlocked your third party slot at Sanctuary of Saerielle (if you don't have the gold, you can check out the "Guide to Making Gold" and "Guide to Mission Pets and Missions" in the player guides forum, and/or do things like rounds of the Fest Zone, since it's currently open- the chests there typically contain 1000 gold or more each, and the assorted fest items can sell well.

That said, with plot progression Wave mobs, where you get progressively stronger enemies, fire pets aren't really what you want. The best strategy for those mobs is to bottleneck the stronger enemies; that is, forcing them to come one at a time by only attacking a single slot, leaving the other two slots as weak enemies.
Fire, being the multi-hitter attacker element, is not suited to that task.

(on the pets themselves, Twigg needs a better relic- Uncommon are garbage (an uncommon equip of lv55 is just about equal with a lv25 legendary equip), and it's way too low of a level besides- and two of his equips are Int-based instead of Str-based

(we have a lv30 rare myrmidon relic that we've gotten from festzone grinding if you want that? if you don't, it's just being tossed into the site sellback bin)

Thanks for the great tips!! I will definitely take you up on the myrmidon relic offer. :) I dont really want to attune a pet to shadow or something and grind it to get it to the same level as Twigg, do you think I can buy a pet that is already leveled up?

and why shadow attacker? the self-healing, I guess, since you don't have a light healer yet? I'd go air, personally, though it'd make you not have int damage unless you got that third slot

you can absolutely just buy a pet that's ~lv45 and use it in your party; so ling as it's not higher than your user level you can put it in your party
